One of the easy-to-overlook roster surprises in all the chatter about our punter and wideouts is how many defensive ends were kept on the 53.

Not only has the Carter/Taylor Administration officially begun, but now we've also got the very presidential-sounding Evans/James/Wilson/Jackson crew as veeps.

While I realize this can only be speculation until the real games begin, I'm wondering how many of you look at this as:

a) throwing as many possible solutions against the wall to ensure that one of them sticks or
b) this is how we roll going forward -- substitutional end play just like we rotate DTs. I guess there's a
c) answer as well: this is only temporary until we're sure that the Taylor injury won't linger and James is for real, in short, till the stable of studs sort themselves out.

Akh suggests in his take that our new options give us much greater flexibility than you'd ever have thunk heading into the preseason.

The question is simply what your gut as a Redskin fan tells you about this surprising turn of events. New strategy? Temporary shake out? Hail Mary?

Which candidate would YOU vote for?

I'm slobberknocker, and I approve this message.

i think we're copy-catting the DE rotation the giants used last year. don't be surprised to see carter/taylor on the end with griff and someone like James or any of the other rushers playing inside on obvious passing downs.

Agreed. I hope to see 4-5 DE play an active role along with a healthy rotation at DT. Keep them fresh and ready for the (gasp) postseason.

Rotation is always good, and the guys we have, seem to like to get to the qb. I still think the young guys could learn a new move or 2 but thats just me. As far as DT....decent rotation, but would love to add a monster in there eventually. Even though young and maybe not monsters, I am surprised we didnt pick up dre moore or wallace gilberry(recent cuts), or at least look at them for the PS. Maybe they did and didnt like what they saw, guess I am just guessing. GO SKINS !!!!!!
