I love him... can't turn on him after just a few games, but i'm starting to get concerned. Two of those holding calls were so huge. Take 4pts off the board and stall a possible game winning TD drive?
I think this is just a funk. Is it gelling with the other guys, is he hurt? Is he slipping? I don't know if it's him or other factors... but he needs to right himself.

I read somewhere that people felt that flag shouldn't have been throw against him because the takedown happened after the throw was made. Interesting perspective.

My frustration level was off the charts yesterday, i missed a lot of the game just pacing outside the bar... was the game officiated evenly?
The Trotter flag, the McCants flag... the Finn non-flag. I can't say because i was in and out.

Not in the first half but they made up for it in the 2nd half. I know the game is over but there was a very obvious block in the back on Bruce that went uncalled. I can understand some calls going uncalled but that thing was obvious.

I heard a sound clip from Samuels today on 980am in which he said said that he did hold him, because he was afraid if he didn't ,it would have led to a sack. He said that sometimes you have to do it and hope you don't get caught.

I heard that on SC last night about another player too DJ. Can't remember who it was but the player said he just kept doing it until the refs noticed.

I thought Jansen had a bad day with penalties, too. In fact, I would have called Jansen for about ten holding penalties yesterday. He was holding Strahan all day long. Maybe he's just better at hiding it than Samuels, but if I could see it...

There's holding on every play. We just get called for it on every play(or every other) We get some of the worst officiating in the league. Maybe Dan needs to start greasing some peoples pockets.

What sucks is that Samuels is better then that.

Since I was one of the unfortunate ones who didn't make the tailgate and game yesterday (and come to find out, i was this close |-| to getting tickets), I got to yell and scream at my TV.
for those who think it was bad officiating, don't waste your time. neither team played a very disciplined game. did the Refs blow a few calls, yes of course...they're human. the one big call that sticks out was the taunting call against McCants...yes, he should have been called for taunting, however there should have been a late hit assessed as well. Not sure which Giant came in, but engaged with McCants very close to the sideline, and drove him well past the OB line, in which he should have let up but didn't. That taunting call killed the 1st drive.
2nd drive was killed by a sack and a holding penalty...which sucks because we held the Giants to 3 and out on their 1st 2 drives. Settle for a field goal, instead of threatening in the Red Zone.
3rd drive, Ramsey couldn't get an open receiver. Betts ran the ball well.
4th drive, 3 penalties for 31 yards (drive stopped at Giants 47)
5th drive, false start, Ramsey was 1-3, with a sack and a weak 2 yard scramble, Hall misses a long field goal off the left upright
6th drive, kneel down to end the half (Giants 21-3)
7th drive, Ramsey's ugly pick
8th drive, we get on the board again, with Ramsey going 7-9 79 yards
9th drive, Ramsey goes 1-4 (i'm pretty sure there was a drop or 2 here), false start puts us at 3rd and 17 as opposed to 3rd and 12
10th drive, starts well, getting a personal foul face mask, after a Coles reception, Betts gets 5 yards on 1st down, and Ramsey proceeds to throw 2 incompletions (someone please tell Spurrier to run the ball at 2nd and 5)...with Hall missing another field goal
11th drive, results in a TD, where Ramsey throws the ball down field. Skins get a false start penalty on the 1, yet score and get the 2 point conversion.
12th drive, Ramsey goes 4-4 71 yards, yet a holding call on 3rd and 10 (making it 3rd and 20) have the Skins settle for a Hall field goal rather than threatening to score yet again.
The Redskins had many chances yesterday, but blew them. The Defense played very well (until overtime) and contains the Giants fairly well, but veteran mistakes on the line cost the Skins the game in my eyes.

Trung's right, there is a hold on every play, if you look good enough. I think 10 yards is kinda stupid for a penalty that could really be called on just about every down. Is it just me, or does it seem like we get alot of holding calls to bring back big plays?

I hate to admit it, but that was one HELL of a play. It was almost beautiful. That ball was RIGHT in Coles' Hands for 86 if he would been 3 inches back.

Samuels is not having a good year at all. But from what I see, he looks like he's lost too much weight. He listed at 310 but I'd be surprised if he's even 300. They jumped on him last year about being too heavy but he wasn't having the problems of being beat all the time neither. I don't know, THERE IS more to this than meet the eye - IMO.

At least Samuels kept Holmes quiet yesterday instead of being beaten on every other play. The penalties happened to Jacobey too.

Every LT worth his salt will do whatever it takes to keep his player off the a ritht handed QB, even if means he must hold if he's going to get beat -- more BAD plays come from the blind sied than any other (ie Fumbles)
If he's caught holding, 10 yds and live to play another down, if beat Fumble and well we know what happens then.
