I don't know about you guys...but I am satisfied with this loss. I think we proved to everyone that we can beat any team out there as long as we don't beat ourselves. 9drops, and the most penalties in the history of the Redskins hurt us too much to overcome. But I am impressed with our moxie!

I hate to disagree - a loss is NEVER satisfing. We all hate loosing whether you admit or not. The only thing we prove is that we are very capable of making enough mistakes to beat ourselves. As far as having the moxie to come back, yeah that's encouraging but I DON'T want to make this a weekly thing which it seems to be becoming.

i am not satisfied. when we came back we should have won the game. defense could not stop the giants in ot and there were way to many penalties. but i think ramsey did great.

I think our defense is a year away because of the line so we need patience. I'd be satisfied with a good, competetive season even if we don't make the playoffs. Next year Snyder has to look at Champ before he looks at Kearse, Sapp and Abraham (you'd think Abraham is a look for the franchise tag but you never know with Bradway) and shore up the D-line by a couple of solid, failry cheap signings, and of course a couple of high draft picks. Then we can contend for the playoffs.

I'm not satisfied, for the following reasons:
1] Any home division loss is bad;
2] A few less penalties and we win that game.
We lost because we were stupid. I cannot be satisfied after a loss like that.

Agreed. Solid points.

yep. if anything this was one of the worst losses to the giants in recent memory imo. to come back like that and have all the momentum in you favor, the other team backed up in their territory and let the W slip away from you cant be satisfying imo.

trying to take your post in the spirit it was intended (of course nobody wants to lose, etc.) ...
I am very concerned that the penalties were not a function of a "bad day" but more a function of the way the Redskins play football. They tell me (over and over) that holding can be called on every play and that corner is the hardest position to play ... so I guess I'll just have to roll with all the holding and interference penalties.
But motion, and defensive offsides ... and worse of all those no-f**king brain unsportsmanlike penalties ...
those are just completely unprofessional
... hey I know that I have never come close to earning the priviledge to play professional football ... but for the love of pete ... if your play doesn't do the talking for you ... then you G@# D@)^ F(@#ing Hell shouldn't be talking (shoving, throwing ... whatever)

Yeah Broken, those motion and falst starts are crazy when you are at home and it's quiet. As far as the Trotter and McCants penalties. Unexcusable. It's always the guy that retaliates who gets caught. Doesn't everyone know that. Okay so you both felt like you were hit late, let it go especially on a positive play for us.
and NO, I'm not satisfied with a loss.

I dont think this lose says as much as some hope it does. The Giants are a totally over-rated team int he preseason predictions... and that is coming to the surface.
You know the Cowboys are enjoying the fact that they won and we lost to the Gints.

This definitely wasn't a bad loss. We beat ourselves this game. If Trotter, McCants, or Samuels don't pick up those big penalties we win this game. Added to that the Giants are a lot of peoples Super Bowl pick and we took them down to the wire.

It was a horrible loss when you take into account all the mishapps and the schedule we have coming up.
The better team did not win. We gave that game away.

It was good to see them battle back and get close to stealing the game but as was said never be satisfied with losing. No holding penalty and Gardners TD counts whole diffrent ball game, McCants questionable taunting call doesn't happen the drive doesn't stall and more than likely goes for 6. We have got to eliminate the penalties! I am pretty satisfied with the DTs they ran down a lot of plays all over the field however we are getting nothing from our D ends.

I can't possibly be satisfied by a game where the Giants tried over and over again to let us win the game, and we shot ourselves in the foot each and every time.

And for the first time our kicker showed why I have been worried about him. I thought I was getting over it but when he kicked the 33 yarder to tie, I had to cover my eyes becuase I could not stand to see a miss.

WOW you guys are hard on the Skins. I think we played better in this game than we did in the Jets game, and all of you got on my ass for saying I wasn't thrilled with that game, but a win is a win. We are GOING to lose. This is a fact we have to deal with. I'm choosing to focus on the positive here because there is a lot of it.
Let's keep in mind, that the odds of shooting ourselves in the foot THAT badly is almost nil to do so again. We got it out of our system. (hopefully) We all know that if it wasn't for the dumbass penalties and drops, we would have EASILY won the game. There is SOOOOO much positive to take away from this game.
By the way...in OT, Fassel out coached Spurrier / Edwards...plain and simple. He completely changed up the looks he was throwing at us all game long, and it killed us. It's not that our defense couldn't handle it...it's just a new scheme that we weren't prepared for due to coaching errors...some times these things happen. You just have to roll with them.

I agree with you on just about everything you said. Except the "we weren't prepared for due to coaching errors". If it was something you didn't see on film, how could it be a coaching error that you weren't prepared for it.
I think everyone is upset with the number of penalties that this team is committing. It has increased with each game so far. They don't deserve praise for that.

JSarno - I understand what you're trying to say and here comes the BUT..... But the team cost themselves with a very bad penalty. You cannot commit a penalty that takes points off the board - especially that penalty - taunting !
So, I respectfully disagree with you... but that loss Sunday SUCKED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Being outcoached in OT would have almost never happened had we kept the points on the board.
A division loss means more now since realignment than ever before!

we still need to be prepared for the unexpected. But I have no problem with losing that way. Fassel outcaoched Spurrier...no big deal. Fassel didn't want to give us a shot at the offense, and he got his wish. We just lost the coin toss...oh well.
My whole point is that if we subtract the stupid penalties and drops...we played one hell of a game. Playing a great game comes in time...and we all know we haven't seen much of that. Teaching to cut down the penalties can disappear next week. This is why I think we have a lot to go on.

It will come down. Good coaching will prevail.

It's hard to be prepared for the unexpected but I see what you're saying. It sounded like you blamed Fassell's playcalling of new plays on Spurrier and him not being prepared for the unexpected.
I hope you're right about the teaching because what I'm hearing is that Spurrier wants the players to take responsibility for these penalties. Yes, he can fine them and bench them but he believes they have to take ownership of the problem too.

Nah...there was really nothing we could do about it.
I seriously seem to be the only person that is not upset at all about this loss.
We cut down those penalties, and there is no one we can't beat. I gained a lot of confidence in the Skins after that game!!!

it will come. Fines might just do the trick. At least Spurrier recognizes that this is a HUGE problem!

$500 fines on millions of dollars of salary means nothing. They have to take ownership and accountability. Spurrier has nothing to do with these penalties and shoudl take no blame. Teach them? Pulllleeezzeee. Samuels and Jansen, Fiore, and Thomas, teach them???????? These guys are not rookies. They need to stop holding, stop the false starts period! If not, then Dockery should see alot of playing time.

I was waiting for that!
But (minus the dumb ass mistakes) didn't we look like a much better team in the game vs the Giants?
If it were interceptions or something I wouldn't think this way...but stupid penalties are easily correctable. The way we played has me convinced we are going to be a tough team to beat.

I hate losses in the division, when you know you could have won, if not for STUPID penalties. It does give you hope that it can be turned around because they are very talented and talent can't be coached. We hope STUPID penalties and mistakes can.
I hope they learn from this game am take care of business. I hope that when we return to face them in December the team is focused and in position to win the east with a victory of the Gints.
Seems like I remember losing to Dallas in 84 at home and then we went to Dallas with a chip and our shoulders and took em out. Might have been the game Dexter took D White out. I think we also had a "Skins Dirt Band" that made a song based off "Eye of the Tiger" after this game. Not sure about all this, correct me if I am wrong.
