Great way to show you're a team guy after they give you the contract extension.

Big surprise here. What's his excuse now after redoing his contract. And as someone already mentioned bound to happen sooner or later.

he did play hurt all last year and was highly productive
then again, how many times was gibbs not able to get a hold of his players during his tenure here ? i cannot imagine not being able to be reached by my boss.. that is simply inconceivable

I wish this could've happened before Week 1. Or later in the year, just before we play the Gints again, lol.

They have a bye and the host Seattle. They aren't exactly hurting anything other than Plaxico's wallet.
Florio(PFT) mentioned on the radio this morning that Burress' new contract really isn't much of a pay increase for him andhe speculated that perhaps he finally got around to reading it and realized that he got played a little.

Yep. The more accurate description is that they've fined him two week's pay and suspended him Seattle. Not the biggest punishment from an on-the-field standpoint. But boy, ESPN's covering it like they suspended him for half a season.

A family issue of the worst kind. Must be hard to have a job in the public spotlight.

I think the appeals process is different from where the league itself imposes a penalty on a player. I'm pretty sure there are clauses in the newer player contracts that gives teams the power to punish players ever since TO ripped philly a new one. "Conduct Detrimental to the Team" is pretty vague and can be used against players for practically anything negative.

Ladies and gentlemen, THIS is why fantasy football is a joke. We should all be bathing in the joy that there is turbulence in "Giant Land"...

Lol... tis true. It's only my 3rd year, and it seems like every Sunday there's some conflicting interest of mine. When Westbrook came out injured, I was happy, yet sad... Burress... same. I've thought of quitting... but then... it's just too hard not to.
