Romo 7 int in 7 games. Campbell 0 this season
He isnt growing up as fast as we want
well i guess we should trade for campbell
Still wouldnt trade romo for anyone..bad bad playcalling!!!!
Please, give me Romo any day. Yea he does bone head plays once in a while but damn when he is on he is one of the best.
Still take Romo over him. Garrett lost the game.
Everyone been posting Romo is the best q.b. in the NFL? Hes not even the best in the NFC East. Until Romo quit making bonehead mistakes hes never gonna be an elite q.b.
Surprisingly, the Cowgirls MBs are pretty quiet tonight. :)

There's a pretty good thread about officiating. Surprisingly most are saying that no matter what, they were outplayed. One even mentions that they called 5 fouls against us and only 3 against them.

Man, I hope my boss makes it into work tomorrow. He's a girls fan (from Ohio?), but he gave me crap after the Giants game mentioned it to everyone who would listen. I won't even have to say anything to him, and he'll start making excuses. Man, I can't wait.

Absolutely dominant performance in everyone phase of the game - Offense, Defense, Special Teams. They can't say anything except "we got outplayed"
I'd enjoy some .GIFS of Demarcus Ware getting beat up.

Here's my favorite.
Just saw TO on Espn and he was blabbering how he was there and the ball wasn't there. This guy needs to shut the f up and not become a distraction. He is starting to point fingers at Romo....besides...i think they are trying too hard to get the ball to him....TO's just not getting open and catching the damn balls.
Mmmmm. That's nice.

I'll tell you what they aren't doing and that's ANSWERING THE PHONE!!!! Not a single one of them! They run their mouth week after week about how going to the Super Bowl is a foregone conclusion this year, but now it's complete silence! One of my friends already went to the store and walked around saying "How Bout Them Cowboys!" He said only one guy bothered to say anything back...lol.
All week long they talked about this being a blowout and a complete mismatch! I started a thread on a message board here in Texas called "We Want Dallas! We Want Dallas!"...I used that short Youtube video to get the point across as well.
One person, who was probably the nicest of the group said "Be careful what you wish for, you just might get it."
Well I guess I can go back and tell them now that "We got what we wanted! We got what we wanted!" and that's a win in the final game the Burgundy and Gold will ever play at Texas Stadium. I love that I'll be able to always be able to say that to all these Cowboy fans here in Dallas!

Mmmmm. That's nice.
tear that team apart TO tear it apart like you did the eagles and niners!
how sweet it is.
1. i don't showboat about wins cause i know how much it hurts when we lose. so i don't do it even to my worst enemy. and i believe it hurts them even more, cause you got that swagger.
2. potential is starting to be realized. we all knew what are team is capable of, it was just being consistent. maybe its coming around. beautiful thing.
3. this is the problem with most cowboy fans. they on when they hot, they off when they not. when the skins lose you can bet there are alot of people still talking on message boards trying to figure it out and do anything we can to help. Dallas, no no. time to bury that gear in the closet, not say anything. cowards, and why i will always despise anything cowboys related.

Normally I would not disagree, but to give MB3 < 10 touches is terrible. We beat dallass, but their playcalling was atrocious (IMO). They won't win 8 games if they don't rely on the run game to set up the pass.

i agree completely. they abandoned it way to early. we stuffed them early and often and they said, to hell with it, lets throw every down. Maybe thats Jason Garrets immaturity and having it too good on offense, i don't know.
but he has to stick with his run game cause they got a big OL, bruising RB and a fast rb, they should wear down opponents even if it don't work early.
that being said, our team played extremely well, and over came alot of crap that we shouldn't have too. plus our O gave the D time to rest most of the game, so maybe we don't wear down as easy this game.

That's not their style of play. In fact, most of the best offenses (which now includes us, to some degree) are using the pass to set up the run these days.

I think that is a bull excriment myth. Their RBs had EIGHT carries. Garrett was awful today and I would say that if Portis had 8 carries.

Disagree COMPLETELY!!! Whitten may be the best TE in the league, but a TE vs a RB??? TO can go stick a vibrating device where the sun don't shine. I wouldn't take him if you paid his salary. Clowns belong in the circus and not on a football field.

They use the pass to set up the run. The pass wasn't working well, so they couldn't get the running lanes they wanted. I agree with you, philosophically, that you need to get your RB more than 8-10 touches. But, that's not how the Dallass (or Indy, Philly, NE, et al) offenses roll.

That's just it, man. Many of the 20 touches Barber may get is when they are leading in the 4th quarter and they're looking to run out the clock or wear the other team down. Same with Philly and Westbrook. They didn't have that luxury today. :D

Witten had 7 catches for 90 yards and a TD. That's about what he's been averaging in catches this year, and in the same vicinity of his yardage in the first 3 games. So while you guys did a darn fine job, no you do did not take Witten away.

As good a defense job as the Redskins did on your Cowboys, there is no way to shut down every weapon at your disposal. We absolutely closed down Barber and the running game, but Witten did have his usual good game.
Weren't you belittling the Redskins last week as not having beaten any real team? I got to admit that I myself am shocked by the way the Redskins dominated your Cowboys (the final score was not indicative how soundly Dallas was beaten). I know one game does not a season make. Compared to the 4 TD game that TO had in Little D last year (where we still had a chance to win in the last 2:00), I'll settle for 7/71/1. Honestly, if you keep TO and Whitten in check (which we did) Dallass is ordinary. Barber and Crayton won't beat anybody.

No running back, other than maybe LT or AP, is going to have much of a chance to do anything with 8 carries. True, but 38 of those yards came on that last drive where the Skins were giving the Cowboys the center of the field as part of a strategy to encourage them to burn more of the clock. The Skins defense exchanged those 38 yards for 45 seconds off the clock. That drive lasted 1:40, and consumed the only clock-stoppage left at Dallas' disposal (2:00 warning). While I detest the prevent defense, the Skins were able to use it well in this particular case, allowing the score, but eating up more of the clock than Dallas could bear.

I understand the point and it worked, but if your normal defense is working, why run a prevent? Or at least rush 4 people. It worked here, but we could get burned if that's the way we try to close out every game.

Barber's last game against the Skins was the monumental effort of -6 yards on 6 carries. Apparently that figure was purely 110% down to the Cowboys resting all their starters ahead of their annual playoff defeat.
This time the Cowboys got all tactical and rested their back-ups - take away Barber's longest run of 15, his figures last night were 7 carries for 11 yards.
Good to see what an elite back can do when his team turns up to play...

Well, duh. It's just because they played down to our level. It's our Super Bowl. We better enjoy this one win, because they own us. They're 2-5 in the last 7, but you can't count the ones w/ Bill Parcells. And last year they didn't care. Yesterday they played their worst game ever and we STILL needed the refs to win. We won't be laughing when we're watching them in the playoffs.

True I guess about the number of rushes but he was billed as this unstoppable monster that runs mere mortal over with out a thought. He did not, plain and simple. As a matter of fact he was stopped cold several times. Bottom line completely no impact.
Indeed... the media makes him sound brutal, but I'll save that tag for Brandon Jacobs right now. BJ (6'4" 264) is scary to tackle vs Barber (6' 225), who's surprisingly small for how he's portrayed. Not to say he doesn't run hard, but he's not an unstoppable force.

Does that cover everything?
Pretty much, lol. But anyone who says those things either didn't see the games or doesn't know football.

Thanks for the stats backup :)

enough about barber. he ran into the same holes portis has been. difference, portis still makes yards, still produces. Barber can't.
Seriously he is playing behind a huge oline, a offense that stretch's the field, and he can't steadily average 4 or 5 yards? hell, even 3? come on. that aint a elite back, that aint a back better then portis. thats a hard running back fortunate to be in the right situation. when he was focused on, good bye. enough about Marion "the barbarian" Barber. easy to run over corners when you have a full head of steam. i didn't see it against LB's like portis do, or dline man.

So you're saying that Portis has NEVER in his entire career had a bad game? Ever?
Yeah the guy NEVER (Talking about Barber now) manages to consistantly get 4 or 5 yards a carry...oh wait, he averaged almost five a carry last year. He had one bad game last year too, or one really bad game like Sunday.
It's not that he's not a good back (and I'm certainly not saying he is or isn't as good as Portis, I actually really like Portis) he just can't seem to do his usual good stuff against you guys. You guys are the thing, thus far, that seem to be able to kick his butt but that hardly makes him some lousy back who 'never runs over linebackers and never consistently gets 4-5 yards'.
Even with you guys slowing him way down I am ticked that Jason totally got rid of the run game. He still has to give Barber, and Jones, the ball and give them a chance to at least keep the defense thinking about the run, which we didn't do.

I'm pretty surprised they didn't at least try passing to him more. Barber can be dangerous in space, and trouble if he reaches the secondary. Was he staying in to block during most of those passing downs?

Mike Mosley on the radio yesterday said there were 18 plays called by Garrett that were "check-by-me" plays for Romo. Basically he was to read the defense and determine whether to run with Barber or pass. He checked down into a passing play all 18 times.
That is also why Garrett has made his lame comments: "sometimes you take what the Defense gives you" and "the defense dictated it" as excuses for not running more.

Yeah I heard about that today too, on Talking Cowboys, but some how I just don't buy the idea that this was his reason for not calling more running plays. This sounds like a cop out and a way to put the focus on someone else other than himself for poor gameplanning.
Not to say this didn't happen a few times but I just doubt that it happened 18 out of 18 times.

i think part of that is the psychology of always feeding TO the ball. part of it is how well we defended barber early inthe game. rocky and fletch were all over him. if you get a feeling that a play isnt going to work, you go away from it.
still, for a player who has the reputation of being "a beast in the 4th quarter" they sure didnt trust barber.. then again, they were behind and that is typical of dallas' front runner mentality
and, just maybe from the way he is playing in seattle, julius jones was a better back than dallas gave him credit for ???
Maybe we just had stellar coverage on him? I'm pretty confident Rocky and Fletch can blanket him all day.
no doubt that played a big part in removing the confidence factor from calling barber's number.. still i would take him on my team in a heartbeat..

Even if he did do it 18 out of 18 times that doesn't excuse Garrett not calling more running plays. The run-pass disparity is still large had those been 9-9. Garrett should have adjusted to the defense and called running plays that addressed the extra man in the box

which is why, despite that huge offensive line, dallas is still more like denver than a true nfc east team
and another thing... maybe Garrett is playing for his shot at HC next year ? what i mean is that he needs to keep TO and R-homo securely in his corner. no one is getting named next HC of the cowboys without those 2 signing off onthe decision. barber ? he will potentially see his role reduced in favor of felix jones. they arent worried about keeping him happy, ultimately, despite all the happy talk, barber is replaceable-- especially if they can point to his "flameouts" in key losses...

well pitts plays 3/4 and they are a beast on defense.. baltimore, a lot also..
i think it would be fascinating whether jones orchestrates a change back to the 4/3 when garrett is named HC ? as with zorn, garrett wont have a lot to say about the defense to begin with, but if i am jones, i think about replacing the 3/4 when i replace phillips..

I don't disagree with you because Garrett should've really run the ball at least 15-20 times, but the NFL is rapidly becoming a pass first league. That said, the Redskins themselves ran 21 pass plays (2 sacks) to only 12 runs in the first half.

Actually, I do. So does Philly, Indy, New England et al. You may lead with the pass to open up the run but, once you get a lead, you need a solid running game to eat up the clock. In fact, I bet Barber gets most of his carries in the 2nd half after Dallass gets a lead on their opponents.

I don't disagree with you a bit about that. I think not adjusting to the trend will result in an overly conservative offense not unlike Gibbs 2.0 schemes at times.
However, that run-pass disparity was appalling and for the "best play caller in the NFL" to blame Rhomo for it speaks to the lack of accountability prevalent throughout the league's consistently most overrated team

Generally speaking he'll get 10-12 in the first half and about 10-15 in the second (if all things are going according to plan). They love to use him in the second half, with a lead, especially the fourth quarter.

Just based on what I've seen from them, it seems like they'll run a lot in the fourth if they've got a pretty big lead. But a lot of times, if the game is close one way or the other, they're very quick to abandon the run.
Maybe I'm wrong, I've got no numbers or anything. Just seems like I've noticed that.
