Hey guys, been awhile since I've posted over here. Hope everyone is doing well, it's a great day isn't it?

Jason Campbell's development has just been a joy to watch, there were several plays that stood out to me today that show you have far he's come. One was a play where Jason was nearly sacked from his blind side, he absorbed the hit stepped forward and hit Santana Moss downfield for a huge gain. In the past there is no doubt he fumbles that football.

Another was when he wanted to go deep down the sideline, he double pumped but nothing was there so he checked it down to Cooley. In the past he would have forced that and never have come off of his first read.

And probably my favorite was one that didn't even count, he used his athleticism to get on the perimeter and hit Randle El for what should have been a TD to put us up 24-17, Rabach's penalty brought it back but he avoided two tacklers that probably would have sacked him in the past.

He isn't turning the ball over, his main bugaboo from a year ago. He's showing great poise and is clearly the leader of this football team. He's getting me excited, I always knew he had it in him but I'm amazed he's caught on to this system so quickly.

He's going to be a good one, I think we've finally landed our franchise QB.

You gotta give JZ a tremendous amount of credit for JC's development. He's cleaned up some real technique flaws in JC's game and its allowing JC to avoid the mental lapses in the games.

JC is incredibly talented, tempermant, arm strength, athleticism, and willingness to absorb coaching.

Its a real; joy to watch.

something is building with this team.

Took the words right out of my mouth.....You can feel the momentum building within this team.......To be honest its kind of scary.......I do not think we have seen an offense as effective as this in quite some time......

So many great storylines with this win. First time Jason has won three games in a row. That has to be pretty neat for him personally.

On Jason's development, my impression is that he's receptive to good, inspired coaching. (His dad was a coach, don't forget.) Zorn, being a teacher without peer, seems to take a collaborative coaching approach with Jason that is really paying dividends. He's treating him like an equal. Coach said something really interesting last week on Jason's sideline behavior. Something like "His head was always in the game, even when he was on the sidelines..."

Coach is trying to take this talented raw material and create a field commander, not just an average NFL QB. I'm sure that he's had to "uncoach" him in some bad habits that he picked up along the way, too.

Here are some random quotes from a Wash Post article today:

"Where Jason shined, he stayed concentrated in difficult situations against a tremendous defense," Coach Zorn said. "He didn't have any of these ups and downs, these sways of emotion. I always talk to him about, 'You bear down. Bear down.'

"He's just playing so well, he really is," center Casey Rabach said. "He's the player that we drafted to be the player we all knew he could be. He's just playing his [butt] off now, and we're all so happy for him"

"The first half, right there man, Jason really got us going," Pro Bowl left tackle Chris Samuels said. "He was good the whole game, he's been really good, but we need to start fast and he got us going. He's definitely leading us, and we're just following him."

"He's using his tools, using everybody that he's got around him," Moss said of Campbell.

And to go along with this, Zorn will be with the Redskins for a long time it appears. So Jason will finally be in this offense for the rest of his career. [hopefully]

If Campbell continues to develop like he is, then we have everything we need to win a title.

The last 3 weeks have been fun to watch and I am anticipating another great week out of Jason next week in Philly.

Its amazing what can happen with a coach that actually trusts him.

Campbell is coming on.

After the way he looked in the loss to the Giants, I felt that Campbell's time to show us that he had what it took to be a winner was limited.

He has taken that time and shown alot.

Not perfection, and there is alot of room to grow, but hats off to Campbell.

And credit due to Zorn as well.

I'm not drinking the Kool-aid just yet. But I've got my cup. He wasn't perfect. I think he left 2 TDs out there. But he certainly was good enough to win most games. Even more exciting, he is showing that he's getting better from week to week. I'm far more happy about that trend than his last performance.

He still holds the ball too long and he doesn't read the defense quick enough and/or know where everyone is on the field. But both are better. Where he puts the ball when he throws it shows the biggest improvement.

I still say we need a big time DT. But if you give me JC finally realizing his potential than I say we've got every bit as much chance as everyone else.

PS: Eli is as over rated as McNabb.

I'm going to agree w/ most of this...JC is coming along VERY nicely. I was practically calling for his head after week 1 IF and only IF he didn't show us something. Well, he's shown me A LOT in the past three weeks. He's made solid progression in each game and each week, the challenge has stepped up so it's not like he's beating up on shoddy D's. this past week was his toughest challenge and he took it in stride and still made progress. He made some very clutch throws. Of course, his o-line is helping out too but that all goes into him making solid progress. I'm very pleased with him at this point. This is better than I could have have expected, even if I was a kool-aid drinker lol. At this pace, he'll solidify himself as the Franchise QB we haven't had since Joey T.

I have always been a Campbell supporter but I am pleasantly suprised at the progess he has made in the past 4 weeks. I thought he would struggle a little with the new system but I guess it takes 2 years to learn Al Saunders offense and 2 weeks to learn Jim Zorn's.

You raise an excellent point in a round-about fashion. We had a QB-coach under Saunders whose background was in the WCO. In Zorn's offense we have a QB coach who is Zorn. You think that might pay dividends in the coach knowing what the player can and can't do and accelerate the player's development? Hmmmm...an idea so crazy it just might work!

its like a light turned on in the kid. beautiful. can you imagin next year with a year under his belt, zorn a veteran. thoams and kelly better, and hopefully rienhart replaces kendall and excels.

should be fun to watch.

we have to be careful with the draft tho. i hope our FO doesn't fall into the win now thinking and trade our draft picks for players. lets keep doing this and building with our players. draft oline, dt's and olb's and keep replacing our older guys. we can be a formitable team for years to come, we have a QB now!!!!!!

p.s. thanks gibbs!
