Okay folks, this week you get to play the job of George Edwards. Visit the homepage here (http://www.hailredskins.com) and tell us what you would do if you were the man calling the shots.

As always, you may use this thread to discuss your vote.

I said Blitz more. We have two of the best cover corners in the league. We can afford to occasionally leave them on there own to rush the passer.

Blitz more. I wish there were an option that said "especially with Trotter," though. Arrington's decent in coverage, while that's by far Trotter's worst area. He's best when he can just run downhill towards the ball, and he always got some sacks in Philly, so why don't we blitz him? I mean, hell, we're so damn blatant when we're about to blitz LaVar, I say we line him up along the edge and then have him drop back into coverage when the ball's snapped while Trotter comes from the other side a few times per game.

We aim to please Joe. Your Trotter option has been added.

I think we need to blitz more but I'd also like to see Dalton and Chase get more playing time to see what they can do.

Can I revote?

Did you vote for blitzing Arrington?

Yeah.

Okay, I'll place a vote for you with the Trotter option since I was going to vote for blitzing Arrington. Yes, it's voter fraud, but as long as the numbers come out right then we won't have to have a Florida styled recall fiasco here.

Is that a hanging chad?

I voted Arrington blitzing more often. However I'd like to see LA and Trotter blitzing with Chase and Dalton playing more as well.Haley to me is in the 3 man rotation. Not sold on him and Holsey starting though.
I'm encouraged because I dont think the Pats are much better than the g-men,the jets hung in there with them this w/e.And point blank first two drives on Sunday with proper execution we would have led 14-0 not 3-0 early.take away the 10,000 false starts, unecessary roughness, holding penalties and the g-men would have lost and lost big.We can correct whats wrong with this team, we couldnt in years past.

Who is your best pass rusher? Arrington. Who led the team and all linebackers in sacks last year? Arrington. Ergo, rush Arrington.

Arrington led in sacks because he was rushing as an end every third down. He's probably the best pass rusher of the three, but that doesn't mean he's necessarily the best option to blitz all the time, especially if it's made blatantly obvious every time.

I wouldn't blitz anyone all the time, Joe. But no one makes an impact like Arrington. He's the one most likely to cause a turnover when he hits someone and this team needs turnovers badly. Too bad one of our guys didn't fall on the ball when he stripped Collins yesterday.

Hmmm... think I miswrote that. I didn't mean blitzing all the time, I meant on every down during the game someone is gonna be the best player to blitz. We won't necessarily do it, but there will be one person who would be most effective. I think that Trotter has been overlooked so far as a blitzer because of Arrington's prowess. Yes, we all love LaVar's hits, but if the blitz gets picked up, who's more likely to allow a big completion to a tight end? Trotter just can't cover.

Hey, how about a Saftey blitz every once in a while, and it dosent have to be so telegraphed.

We ARE already rotating Dalton and Chase. We ARE blitzing probably as much (maybe too much) as we can without really getting burned (????).
IMO - work with the scheme that we have. Evaluate this week's film. Other than the overtime drive our D was not doing that bad EXCEPT for the 6 penalties for 65 yards (which also kept two of their drives alive for scores). Take away the 83 yard drive during OT and the Giants had 325 yards. Sure we could have put more pressure on the QB in the frist half BUT adjustments were made the second half and our D played good. OT, Giant did a great job of throwing stuff at us they hadn't shown all game - WE didn't adjust!

I'm not really to rework the D yet. Maybe some minor adjustments and STOP the F**KING-US-PENALITIES.
Still have the #9 D in the league - WE WILL BE OK.

Yeah, they did break out some new stuff in the OT and Arrington took the blame for Shockey being wide open on that play. He said he made the wrorng decision because he thought run instead of pass and was out of position.
