I saw some mention of this series in in another thread, so I started this. I haven't yet watched all the episodes through but I am officially hooked on this now. I had watched bits and pieces of the first few shows but like any brilliant piece of work, it took a little while to take hold for me.

This show has it all and brings the vampire genre to the modern times brilliantly through the use of stereotypes and political correctness. No show has ever combined the suspense that this one does. From one scene to the next, you don't know if you are going to laugh, scream, jump, be disgusted or turned on.

HBO has found another winner and this one should last a while, as there has already been a considerable amount of characters and subplots laid out.

Who else is on board?

I'm diggin it. I did like the first episode more than the others so far but I haven't seen last weeks episode yet on the dvr. How can you not like a show with a main charater named Sookie lol.

Watched them all so far... def hooked. Last episode ends in a shocker... can't wait for next week!!!

I've been watching, but I can't say I'm sold on the show. For one thing, I can't stand the over-the-top fake Southern accents. Argh! But I haven't given up on it yet. I'm still hoping I'll be able to really (wait for it...wait for it) sink my teeth into it. :boo: :D

I'm watching but not hooked yet. Tara is by far my favorite character.

Can someone explain to me what makes you a vampire in this series? Obviously just gettting bit by a vampire will not make you one or Paquin would be one already, same with drinking Vampire blood as she had to do that too. I just don't understand the rules.

Getting bit, then drinking the blood from the vampire that bit you is what it takes, same as in any other vampire story. She will be a vampire now, unless she has some kind of immunity we don't know about yet. Which could explain why she can hear others thoughts.
