Screw that. We had a bad day, but as far as I'm concerned we're still in the race for first place. Ten more games to go. There are going to be a lot more crazy weeks like this one.

Small consolation for our own huge disappointment. We lost all the ground we had gained today. Think about how hard it was to get where we were and how easy it was to fall back in the pack.
It's a loser mentality to have to root for other teams to lose, because your own team can't take care of their own business.
Sorry but I can't be positive after losing to a previously winless team in our own house.

I would have rather lost next week, against an AFC opponent. It doesn't carry the same ramifications. Barring a collapse by the Giants, which I can't see at this point, we are playing for 2nd place in the division, which means wild card at best and having to road trip the playoffs.

A win today would've definitely helped our cause, but the Giants have 11 games left to play. They don't have to "collapse." They just have to lose some games at some point this season. I'm not saying we're going to win the division, but our loss today doesn't rule us out of that equation.
There is still so much football left to be played and things are going to get shaken up quite a bit between now and December.

maybe.. the season has a lot of games to go.. giants certainly dont look any better than the cowboys did this time last year... they have a lot of nfc east games to go.
sure, i would rather lose to the afc, but most of the time in the end, it is won/loss that gets you in.. last year, it really came down to head to head with the cards.. we went, they didnt..
if we take care of our business, the giants are catchable.. they wont go undefeated, i would bet on it..

The Giants ain't going to lose to a garbage team like the Rams in their house. If they do, it will be because they don't need the win. They are battle tested, we are still finding ourselves and unfortunately, finding out that we can still lose to anybody.
This was a costly and inexcusable loss, no other way about it.

i cannot argue with you.. but the way most of us were thinking at the beginning of the year, we are STILL playing with house money.
give me 6-2 at the mid point, and i will be happy and ready for a stretch run...
you never know what the giants will do.. they were under .500 at home last year..

Right now, I would be very happy with 5-2. Every week is going to be a struggle and I feel that we were a bit exposed today. Not that we shouldn't have won, barring a few mistakes but its become obvious that by taking Santana out of the game, we become very limited on offense. We do not have a 2nd WR. ARE sucks. Thrash is old, fragile and cant get separation from a linebacker. Thomas is a rookie and a slow learning one at that. Kelly... just making it through a practice without being injured seems to be a challenge.

yup.. we have issues.. but i dont expect us to play 2 bad games in a row.. especially, full of mental lapses.. that much we can correct

I don't quite agree with that. Fumble or not, Cooley is still a monster target by himself and Portis can do a lot, even against eight in the box. However, Santana needs to be drawing the defense towards him, I agree, and the sooner we can start getting something out of Thomas and Kelly, the better.

But you COULD see a Giants collapse at this point last season
Yet, they won the super bowl
Week 6 means nothing, basically. Teams that look attractive now, might not be so good down the line. Kevin Blackstone said on Around the Horn that they should close off the Beltway in preparation for a SB parade (i was pissed about it because i thought he jinxed us bad). I doubt anyone will say that this week. Hype is that fleeting. And frankly I am glad we are no longer in that discussion. I don't want to win home field throughout the playoffs, or even the division. All I want is a playoff spot. After that it's anyone's game.

I agree with this word for word. We had a chance to take a 1,5 game lead over the Cowboys and a 1 game lead over everybody else in the wildcard race, but we screwed it up by losing at home to a team that had lost its first 4 games by 35, 28, 24, and 17 points, and had given up no less than 31 points in every one of those games.

i rieterate what most have said. while i wasn't said the cowboys lost, i wasn't crazy happy either.
i think of how hard the team worked to get here. to be in this position. and how we have given it all away with fluky luck and being to cocky. i think of how we would have had a game up on the boys and 1 of the head to heads with them having to come see us, and it just makes it even more disappointing. alot of us were saying, if we are who we say we are, we beat them by 3 scores and put them away by the start of the 4th latest. but we aren't.
so, while i am happy the cowboys lost, its better then them winning, i am disappointed cause i think of what should have been and what could have been if we just keep our head on straight.

yea we all would have taken 4-2 right now, especially given what happen in preseason and the 1st game. but thats not the point.
the point is what could have been. thats the sad part. the frustrating. the part where your like, come on. we know we can do it, why the hell aren't they doing it. its not like we the chiefs were we like, we won but we know it was random chance. we know what this team can do, we see the potential, we see what can happen, and yet they don't screw there heads on right this week and we come away with a loss that could shape out to be a big factor later givin that i don't think teams in the East are going to have more then 6 losses max all season.

It's ONE GAME. I was pissed too, but does anyone here think the Giants are going undefeated? Or even 15-1? Or that the Cowboys won't lose another game? It's the NFL. Losses happen. This was a stupid game to lose and I'm pissed about it too, but some of you guys sound like this has torpedoed our season and it's time to start thinking about next year.
We'll be okay.

It's great that Dallass lost this game, especially considering it seems that both the Arizona defense and the refs were intent on handing them the W.
Man, the tackling for that AZ defense was attrocious. And not once but TWICE they played that 3 down lineman, prevent defense -- giving up a long TD each time! Amazing.

For all those who keep thinking "It was only ONE game" ........ At the end of the season and IF we are still in the mix ....please don't forget what happen on 10/12 and that ONE game. Skins were in control of their season and pacing ONLY one game behind the Giants. NOW they are facing being two games down and the Giants getting some good news today in the fact they will be facing a Dallas team that stumbling AND now without their starting QB.
My only hope is that they get so exciting about hearing the news out of Dallas, they forget about the Browns.

agreed. those also who say one game, remember the AZ game last year. Rackers makes that kick we don't get in the post season. that was just one game, one 50 yard kick from a pro bowler. every game matters. not only that, but you have to win the games you should cause we got tougher opponents to come.
and fortunately for us, romo will be back just in time for us. great...

I am with Redskin Rich on this one. There is nothing good about losing to the bottom feeder of the NFL, previously winless, and losing at home to choke away control of your place in the division.
It is only one game, but it was a conference game and one likely to have playoff seeding inplications if we can play well enough down the stretch to make the playoffs.
This loss exposed us as a team that doesn't operate when you fluster the QB. The quick read throws were not being made and Campbell was getting killed by a previously pathetic D-line. It led to two fumbles, Campbell's and Kendall's on the batted ball. The defense holds a team to 200 yards total offense and you lose? Inexcusable.
No, the sky isn't falling and no, this isn't the time to be calling guys out but it is a time to be pissed that you had a chance to put your foot on the throat of Dallass and Philly and you blinked and missed. This crap always has consequences down the road.
