This is meant as a non-political post.

Congratulations to President-elect Barack Obama. I urge everyone to set aside a few seconds to pray that God gives him the wisdom needed to lead us over the next four years. If you don't pray, then think good thoughts for him.

May God continue to bless America, too. An amazing night.

God Bless America. That's my prayer.

May Obama show the wisdom and the ability to lead this country through these dark days. I think he possesses both, and we will see them starting on January the 20th.

I don't offer prayers for people who have spent years campainging for the opportunity to be President. Obama got his opportunity, so his prayers have been answered.

I will instead offer big congrats to Obama and will pray that America get's the President we were promised.

I like the fact that a large percentage of our country has looked past stereo-types and racism in this historic election. I wish Obama the best and I hope he can restore our countries economy and international relations.

The Good Lord knows the U.S. could use all the help it can get.

I will pray for all of us and our President will always be included, regardless of party. I hope he's the guy he claims to be although I am beyond skeptical. No one can deny he's been handed the keys to a real clunker but he knew that when he asked for them.

The GOP hack in me was hoping for a Bradley Effect for purely political reasons. The human in me is proud it didn't happen.

Not to be wonky, but Obama won the most white votes of any Dem candidate since the Solid South in 64.

I've felt sick all day because of the results of the election, with that being said... I pray he can right the ship. God bless!

No matter your party affiliation, I can't help but believe everyone should want to see him succeed. This country is pretty screwed up right now and it would be good to see our President help turn things around.

Not an Obama fan, but I must congratulate him. I'm not rooting against him by any means, I'm just hoping that some of his policies and promises were just hype. I'm hoping he is able to help us emerge from the economic crisis (without digging too far into mid-upper class pockets) and SUCCESSFULLY (in caps), remove some of the troops in Iraq without creating a bigger problem. I'm going to support him as the President, just not some of his political views (I guess that's what I'm trying to get at?). And pray for his safety, because there are a ton of wackos out there.

I noticed that the Secret Service erected huge bulletproof glass dividers on his left and right at the Chicago speech. The podiums are always bulletproof. Hopefully the inaguration will be his final (and BIGGEST) large event and we won't have to worry anymore.

I wonder where Obama will vacation? So many presidents lately have had ranches. I can't imagine him going back to Chicago for a breather a few times a year.

I lived in DC during the Reagan years, and it was really neat to just be in the center of power at that time. Even got a tour of the White House. DC is pretty cool. I envy you guys.

I wish him all the best in a difficult job and congratulate you all that this can happen. You have come a long way it a short space of time and it is magnificent to see.

Although we elected a woman to be Prime Minister in 1979 which was amazing, I think we have a long way to go before we ever see a non white leader in this country. Once again it has shown us what a brave Democracy the USA has and gives us all hope that if you believe, good things can happen.

I pray that he can lead by example in the coming years.

I don't think you need tickets for the parade. I think you only need tickets for the Inauguration ceremony and subsequent address. That doesn't mean you can't be close enough to hear it without a ticket, just not close enough to be in proximity of the stage.

They're talking about 2-4 Million people descending upon the Mall.

I might have to rent my house out for the week and go to Disney.

Somehow, I don't see the Park Service selling (or processing) 2-4M tickets, lol.

I might have to rent my house out for the week and go to Disney.
Good luck with that. Your house is going to look like the Money Pit when you get back. ;)

I've got 3 kids that are hell bent on destruction of this house. It already is the money pit. I'll just pack all my valuables in storage for the week and hope whoever rents it doesn't burn it down.

Sad but true. I grew up with 2 brothers. We destroyed our house, lol.

I'm assuming there will be plenty of big screens on the Mall. I hope it ain't too cold. Reagan's second was moved indoors because it was 19 degrees. My favorite part of the day is when the Old Guard from Fort Myer blasts a 21 gun artillery salute immediately after the new pres. says "So help me God." I always get a charge out of that.

I hope he has great success as president, even though we don't share the same views on everything. He is going to be my new boss so I guess i better support him the best I can.
