GOOD: Clinton Portis, playing as good as he has all year long. Defense playing as good as it did for 4 quarters.
BAD: No pressure, we're gonna get killed if we can't get this figured out.
UGLY: Jansen and Rabach, if we don't give time to JC, we get games like this.

Good: Portis and his heart, the first drive, Cartwright's end-of-half return.

Bad: Second-half offense.

Ugly: No points off turnovers.

Good: Finally getting Devin involved; Rocky's hands; Deangelo Hall showing Rogers how to hold on to the football; Horton as usual; Cooley doing what he could

Bad: Defensive Line getting man-handled; Offensive Line getting even MORE man-handled; allowing the cowboys to march 80 yards at the end of the first half; turning 2 turnovers into 0 points

Ugly: Jon Jansen, Casey Rabach, our offensive ineptitude inside the opponents' 30 (3 times inside Dallas' 30 for 0 points!), Jim Zorn calling ONE PLAY all game where Jason Campbell threw the ball downfield - as opposed to about 7 or 8 screen passes (it made me want to scream at me TV all game long!!!)

AAAAAHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!

Why does this team INSIST on being mediocre?

Good: Clinton was a warrior playing with heart and an injury; Cooley; Rock's good KO return

Bad: Zero pass rush at all; offense is anemic unless Clinton makes it happen; OL pass protection

Ugly: Run defense breaking down later in the game will kill us; dropped passes; losing to Dallass - they outplayed us in the last quarter

Good. I think that the defense played well. 14 points to the cowboys offense?
Bad: Our offense. The OL did not look good at all and JC was erratic again. Can we please throw downfield ?
Ugly: We cannot win games if we score 16 points in 2 games.

Good: The play of Clinton Portis, Chris Horton, and the rest of the defense.

Bad: Going deep once all game. Jason Campbell not stepping it up in a pivotal game we needed. Pass protection.

Ugly: Missing a 47 yd FG because it was short. Not capitalizing off of turnovers again. Having to listen to the media say that Tony Romo made the difference when clearly our offense lost the game. We held their team to 14 points with everyone healthy (minus Felix Jones). We were missing Shawn Springs and Marcus Washington most of the game. Speaking of the defense. Has anyone seen Jason Taylor? I heard we acquired him in the offseason.

The good: biggest knock on Fred Smoot is that he plays soft. Last night he popped Marion Barber pretty good and flipped TO over. He also totally whiffed on another tackle but I take this as a net good and appreciate Smoot's pure hatred of the cowboys.

JC's deep ball to Santana. That ball could not have been better IMO and even though it was not a completion, it still justifies taking more shots downfield. That was a thing of beauty.

The bad: inability to protect the QB. Part of the blame falls with Zorn IMO.

The ugly: Rock spazzing out and knocking a stationary ball into the end zone. pass rush.

I hate to say this but right now we're not a good football team. The thing that bothers me the most is the inability to pressure opposing QB for like a hundreth year in a row. We need to address this next offseason. Same goes for protecting our QB. And IMO Zorn could be a lot more aggressive in the playcalling, way too many short plays.... 16 pts. in the last 2 home games....awful.

GOOD- CP playing tough with a bum knee. Horton. Defense, overall, played pretty well. Holding a team to 14 points SHOULD get you a win 8 times out of 10!

BAD- No pressure on opposing QB. Outside LB play was atrocious giving up the corners on every running play. Offensive inability to score TD's! Suisham's missed FG.

UGLY- Offensive line play was beyond putrid!! Every single one of them sucked, with Jansen and Rabach sucking the hardest! I can't put into words how absolutely pathetic the OL played. They should each feel humiliated and embarrassed by that showing last night. Disgusting!

Good

Smoot and Horton's big hits early in the game to energize the defense.
Pass defense holding all Dallas receivers under 40 yards a piece
DeAngelo getting an INT in his first game as a Redskin
Unhealthy Portis running effectively
Solid rush blocking by Sellers
Rock's big kick return
Winning field position and turnover battleBad

Smoot and Horton's big whiffs mid-way through the game to energize the Dallas offense.
Rush defense giving up a 100+ yard rushing game to a guy they smothered a month earlier.
Jason holding onto the ball too long.
Dropped balls at key points of the game
The bad call on the Rock touchback.
Losing time of possession and 3rd down efficiency battleUgly

Zero Pass rush and Zero sacks.
Offense not putting points up on the board after early turnovers. (2nd game in a row)
ARE's floater out of bounds *quack*
Pass protection was abismal
a 12-play, 6+ minute drive on offense that ended in an INT

nothing is good losing to Dallas.

bad-the play calling, both lines, and WR production.

ugly-the play calling again, Was Joe Gibbs hiding in the box calling all those wr screens. we lost at home.

Nausiating- All the Cowboys fans wearing their stuff again and flying flags on their cars. makes me sick. It was so nice to see them quiet for most of the season.

Anyone agree that Devin Thomas Could have put the game away with the 3rd&7 catch with 6 minutes left on the fifty???

The Good: Clinton Portis and the Redskins touchdown drive. We utilitzed Mike Sellers (finally) in the offense, and we score. Why did we immediately stop using him? Runner-up: Forced turnovers. Hall shows the rest of the corners how to catch, and Rocky shows nimble hands. This would be number one, but we scored zero points off of these turnovers.

The Bad: Our lack of a downfield passing game. We're going to have to throw the ball downfield more then once in a game. Maybe Gibbs/Saunders were smarter then we think, and knew we had absolutely no chance to throw the ball downfield.

The Ugly: Jon Jansen. He has nothing left in pass protection. He was constantly being bull rushed back into Jason Campbell, which is just as good as a sack. We can't go another game with him in there pass protecting. He is absolutely killing us.

Perhaps Biggie will look at this sometime since he does such a great job with stats, tendencies, etc. But I don't really think we are getting the great production running right anymore either (at least not the last two games). If we are not having the same success at running right, then there is no reason to keep Jansen in over Heyer who pass protects better.

Good: Portis playing period. Horton plays like a vet! Washington getting hurt. The defense overall.

Bad: The offense. The playcalling. The offense. The playcalling.

Ugly: The offense. The playcalling. The offense. The playcalling.

With the exception of 1 year over the past 5 the defense has come to play. The Offense however has struggled and at some point you have to look at the players. It's the same players on the field offensively for a few years now and we have had 3 play callers. The common denominator is the players. Where do we go from here with a putrid O-Line. Thought we would go all defense next draft but now.... wtf?

i cant fault the playcalling as putrid as it looked.. JC was getting lit up on every play. how is he supposed to have time to throw anything except the slant ?

Lol, I don't exactly have film of the game that I can break down. However, I did want this information for a column, so I went through the play-by-play and came up with these numbers:

Runs to the Right:

Attempts: 11
Yards: 50
YPC: 4.55

Portis had nine carries for 48 yards, Betts had one for one, and Alexander the same. The thing is that Portis had runs of 20, 10, and 8 yards, and then no more than three on any other carry to that side. Five of his nine carries to the right were for two yards or less (again, this is totally going off of NFL.com). So we did get a couple of big hitters from that side, but it was either a big run or squat and more of the latter.

G: The Defense keeping us in yet another game.

B: The Offense letting us down once again. Zorn being out coached by Wade Phillips.

Ugly: The lack of pass protection and a pass rush.

The Good: D-Hall making Vinny look good for a change. CP hangin' and bangin', sayin' his prayers, eatin' his vitamins and playing on one leg.

The Bad: The passing game. Zorn giving up on the run, again. The O-line playing like a bunch of 30-somethings with no gas in the tank.

The Ugly: Losing to Dallass after holding them to 14 points. The D-line unable to stop Marion Barber in the 4th when we needed the ball back.

The Good: Please everyone thank Champ Bailey for wanting out of here because if not we do not have the cornerstone of this team "Clinton Portis"

The Bad: Jon Jansens utter inability to block anyone with a pulse. Watching Mongoose Washington limp off the field for what could be the last time. Okay Ill admit it Keino, SHAUN ALEXANDER

The UGLY: Zorn turning into GIbbs II, what the hell is the deal with all the screen passes
