is it me, or did the coaches look "unfased" last night? even Zorns presser was non-chalant. the players were smiling, the coaches were shrugging, and i am livid. hell even cooleys blog has goofy vids posted right above hate mail he got from dallas fans (or the defense evidentally). after the loss to the rams he wouldnt post for three days!!!

you just had your rivals come in and take your heart in front of the entire football world... oh yeah... at home too. you had a chance to solidify your playoff hopes and crush theirs...and youre smiling, joking, shrugging things off?

maybe I just dont get it? i know the season is far from over and we still have a good chance. but we just tied for second in the east and lost the points tie-breaker to the cowboys. where was the zorn we saw after the detroit game? where was the "south end of a northbound skunk" comments from blache (even though the D held them to 14 points)? am i completely unreasonable here guys?

The rivalry is more about the fans now than the players. It's not like it was years ago when both coaches and players hated each other. That doesn't happen now.

The mentality with teams now is we lost or we won. Game over, now it's time to move on to the next game. Whether you win or lose it's back to work on Monday.

part of the staying medium attitude... otherwise the losses can destroy coaches.. i am sure that inside zorn felt yesterday's loss a lot...

Just like the NBA, ah the good ole days. Thank goodness for ESPN Classic. The sports world has moved farther left and at a faster pace than the country has.

Huh? What?
What does this have to do with politics?

if he meant it as a political thing...i dont follow it either. BUT i think he meant the players now-a-days arent the same players that we were used to seeing. i dont COMPLETELY agree, but there has been a softening there for sure with the fame and fortune (whichever direction, left or right, you want to call it).

just like H2S said above, its a different era and the rivalry is mostly for the fans. although i see the point....im still livid...

I don't know. I know some players get it, and I feel like more of "our" guys get it than "their" guys.

And Zorn looked *really* pissed on the sidelines a couple of times last night.

I'm not too bothered by anything I saw, other than the execution, obviously.

But I don't buy that the players don't care. I think they do care. A lot of players have expressed their distaste for Dallas (Sellers, Smoot, Sean Taylor while he was alive). Maybe the Cowboys players don't care, but a good number of Skins players do care, evidently.

Some (very few IMO) might take it personally but for the most part I say that the only thing most professional players care about today is THE PAY CHECK. Come on when you're making $30,000 - $500,000 per game you know what on their mind.

I'm sure the players and coaches felt it. Losing at home to Dallas. In a winable game like that? Ugh. Don't let their brave faces fool you.

What did you expect? Jason launching into a "We knew who they were!" tantrum?

it may be unreasonable...but yes. im not expecting someone to dismantle the podium, but i didnt even hear disappointment in anyones voice. it was too non-chalant for me.

however, im one of those people who doesnt get over a loss until a couple days later, and im mad so i want others to feel the same.

i dont doubt that it bothers the players. and we have a lot of veterans that arent going to get their feathers ruffled. but i just didnt see/hear any frustration or disappoinment...

In the pre-free agency era when players tended to stay with the team that drafted them for a career and play the same guys in other uniforms twice a year every year, a very real "We vs. They" mentality prevailed. Guys really disliked each other, on a personal level in many cases.

In the era of FA, players change teams and they recognize that the guys they are playing against today they may be playing with tomorrow. Why not be buddies? The level of effort and sheer grit has gone down. Except for a few guys like Portis this year and the lamented Sean Taylor who are/were throwbacks, most guys just play within a comfort zone defined by their immense physical talents (see Springs, Shaun). The ones who push beyond those limits in the name of professionalism, responsibilities to team mates, etc. are few and far between.

Because at the end of the day when were still pissed off about a loss the players hop in there Bentley Continentel GTs, drive home to there mansions and have sex with there supermodel girlfriends on top of the piles of money that Snyder has given them.

I noticed at first how the Skins players looked earnest and business like and the Cowboys looked frantic. Romo's facial expression after Smoot upended TO showed dismay at the intensity of the defense. Then both sides started playing nice, helmet slaps & small talk.

It sure didn't seem to bother Cooley Monday........."We are not getting blown out, were just losing by a little bit!" Not exactly what he said but it was pretty dang close!

AAAAAAAAARRRRGGGGG......I'm still pissed! Just took another Blue Star off my damn office door!!!!

I bet if they were docked a paycheck for losing to Dallas they would have played better!

I agree with what has been said throughout this thread, but the Skins have got to find a way to quit losing these divisional games. They play hard, but they just don't have the killer instinct to finish anybody off.

I think the only thing that will convey to everyone on the team exactly how we feel is to Boo! Boo long and loud at the games conclusion. Show no mercy to our team. Someone (us) has to have the killer extinct. Let 'em really have it. It's time to boo 'em for a loss like we cheer 'em for a win.

Is it waranted? For this team, probably not, but after the frustration due to the annual underachievement of the burgundy and gold, something has to change.
