Did you notice that the team has been saying lately that it is/was a "torn Calf muscle"?

I tend to think he has a torn Vaginal muscle at this point........(And why is the team changing the diagnosis?)

Love these.

Great write-up, BNG. I though for sure Portis wasn't going to play, and rightfully so (especially after hearing him on the JT show saying he can't even straighten it out). Hilarious poster for Springs' new movie role. His calf has to be completely ripped from the bone to justify his absense. Maybe it is, maybe it's not; who knows.

Best read from you yet. Love the Portis in a space suit.

Portis is a warrior and imo if our OL wasnt so long in the tooth and capable of pass pro he'd be having an even better year. He constantly dodges guys before he can even get back to the line and the lack of a passing game works against him also.

As for Springs, she's no longer worthy of my time discussing...

Great read, burgundy. If our coaching staff believes that Springs is milking his injury for what its worth, then i think they should cut him ASAP. We have Hall now and Springs is no longer needed. Right now, i'm wishing we had cut Springs, instead of Torrence, to make room for Hall. Springs is a complete and utter waste of a roster spot.

great stuff, as always

everybody could see the future onthe field on sunday.. hall will be signed long term and springs will be a distant memory next year

the thing is that there is already some rumblings of discontent being reported .. the players know who plays hurt and who doesnt

I honestly believe Hall was brought here to replace springs in the long term. I think its a try out for Deangelo but I dont see Snyder allowing him to leave next year, he will get a long term deal. Hall signaled the end of Springs.

Sand in his HooHoo...

No doubt. What a chump.

Portis is closing in on being my favorite modern day Redskin. Seriously, I have a man crush on him.

Not to speak for Shally, but Cooley talked about this during training camp. He was very vocal about the fact that he had yet to miss a PRACTICE in his career despite the fact he needs back surgery and has had many other injuries during his career (it should be noted he did miss one practice this season), yet some guys can't seem to stay on the field. He didn't mention names, but he clearly doesn't think everyone in the locker room mans up.

Hilarious and dead on IMO.

I have always seen Springs as being a little soft and also indifferent to the success of the team. This season has accentuated those feelings. The thing I can't get my head around is that even though Springs seems very soft and indifferent, he usually plays well when he can be bothered to suit up.

I can't say enough positive things about Portis and the effort he puts forth.

CP is the heart of this team. CP can put this team on his back and take us into the playoffs.

I think I've heard that story once too often.

Exactly.

I don't care if he plays. In fact I prefer that he didn't so that we can evaluate Hall and let him learn the system.

It would be completely in character for Springs to skip the hard division games that matter (Dallass) only to come back against teams where he thinks he can have some success (Seattle, San Francisco).

I laughed out loud in my office at the movie poster. The tagline "Milking the Calf" is truly inspired. On the other hand, a hallway full of toxicologists probably isn't the best place to blow cola out your nose...

That was a classic lampooning/harpooning/general pooning of Springs. I think Keino may have to add another cookie to his box of Keeblers.

I would add Carlos and to a lesser extent Rocky Mac to the list of low danglers on the team along with Portis. The rehab those guys pushed themselves through to get where they are is truly amazing and answers a lot of question about their toughness and drive.

I have to wonder about this issue from the Blache angle. Greg strikes me as a pretty no-nonsense guy who would have close to zero tolerance for booboos keeping a guy out of games. Is the signing of Hall all on Vinny/Danny in the sense that Danny loves violent football and personnally views Springs and a marshmallow? Or does Blache have his hand in this as having finally been pushed beyond reasonable doubt on the milking the calf issue and brought it to Vinny?

Thanks. I liked the idea of writing this because in one article I could heap lavish praise on someone who deserves it and mercilessly shred someone who deserves it just as much, lol. Portis and Springs are such polar opposites that it makes for an interesting topic.

How did you do the snapshots of Springs in the middle of the girls? I have looked at it about 10 times today, and it is gets the same amount of laughs each and every time. In fact, I'm going to check it again after posting this message.

Springs tricked us last year and stuck around. There should be no reason what so ever he is here next year. We don't need a player we are really counting on and paying sitting out every friggin time something hurts, it is just not sustainable. I read he would play this week. Read the same thing last week. Said to myself no way he will miss this game. What are the odds he plays?

It's a good thing you added that "lol" at the end. At this point, I don't think that anyone would be surprised by Springs if this actually happened. ;)

Portis is a tough man, he's quirky as hell says whats on his mind but when he says he doesn't ever wanna let his guys down the word of that man is Gold with me.

I will never forget what he's giving to us. Bigtime back bigtime Redskin.

I'm only 24, so I'm too young to have seen Riggins, but Clinton Portis is hands down the best RB I've seen in a Redskins uniform. He IS our offense.

Yep. He's up there with Riggo as far as I'm concerned. Like Riggins, he seems to get stronger as the game goes on.

Until Portis spends all week in traction and comes out to run like this... then and only then will he be .... RIGGINS

But he's awsome regardless.

Indeed. I understand that's he hasn't had a very good year, but there's no question that he sealed the win today.

Portis is tough as nails, with a huge heart. He keeps going out there with a sore knee and doing his thing. His effort is something else and I kind of laugh now thinking about when we were talking over the offseason about him taking himself out of games.
