local news from seattle today has Pat Kerney to IR.... he had a huge game against the redskins last time and was almost impossible for the OL to handle
and Hasselbeck is really hurting after getting beat up last week. Holmgren says he will play but Wallace is running the offense in practice..Wallace himself is coming off a 2 week injury
the Redskins are catching the Seahawks very down.. but that is usually just the type of team that hurts us badly
Looks like karma paying the Skins back for the injuries they had in each of the last two playoff games at their house. Somehow, not so satisfying. Either way, this is a game that Seattle has no business winning.

We don't have ANY excuses to not win this week....NONE.
I hope I'm not headed to the grocery store this weekend for a brown-bag, if I am, I'll be headed to pick up a new TV as well.

We have gotten the short end of situations involving the other team this year. We get the Rams off the bye in the first game with the new coach. We get the Cowboys off the bye when Romo returns. We get the Hawks with Hasselbeck back. You watch, Carson Palmer will decide to make his return against us.
None of these are reasons to lose. I'm just saying we haven't had the best luck in catching teams at their weakest.

Honestly, if we can't win this week, we don't deserve to be in the playoff race. Seattle is a really bad team.

well if they're a really bad team like the lions, rams, browns, etc. we will probably try to find a way to lose all game long, make their DL look awesome, the secondary look inpenetrable and hopefully pull out a one score victory.

they are most certainly NOT a bad team.. they are less than one year from being a solid playoff team. they lost to green bay in ugly weather.
what they are is a team that has been decimated by injuries.. all year long
plus, no matter what anyone says, they are playing as if Holmgren is gone already and Mora is not yet head coach.. that is the biggest advantage we have..
we need to get on top early and not let up.. if we are even with them going into the 4th quarter, it is a game we will likely lose-- just like the ram game.
just like the dallas game

i think the skins will win,but remember where zorn got his offense from?
he's playing against his master and he's but a student.i think it will be
17-14 redskins.

But we do that with every team so it's a given.

Boy I'm hoping for a good old fashion whooping of the Honks this weekend! We need a strong showing against this team to get ourselves righted for the next few weeks. If we can't win strong, and just squeak out a win, then I fear the remainder of the season.
As for Seattle, here is a funny, albeit sad article about the state of sports in the Seattle area:

HAIL!

Thanks, we will.
I agree...I'll take a win, but a quality win would be even better.

latest from up here is that hasselbeck is definitely going to play.. we need to push him around some. even though he doesnt have his usual complement of receivers, he can be very dangerous if he has time and gets his tempo up...

i think not having kerney play is a bigger advantage for us than not having hasselback.

problem is, we have zero pass rush. I have never seen a team blitz as much as the Redskins and end up getting so little out of it. I think we need to hire a special assistant to help teach the players and coaches how to EFFECTIVELY blitz. Ridiculous

problem is that not only are our schemes ineffective, but also the individual players seldom beat their man..double failure

If the Skins lose to Seattle and win the next five then they certainly DO deserve to be in the playoffs. This isnt the BCS, one loss against a bad team should not eliminate a team from contention.

while you might be technically correct, the negative momentum would be so great that this team would even struggle to finish 8-8 if they lose to seattle
it is a "must win" by every imaginable yardstick

totally agree with you. we need to play with tremendous urgency

in some ways it is, but in some ways it isnt... our defense is better than the one MH faced last year in the playoffs. seattle isnt going to score a lot of points. dallas scored only 14 with their offense-- which is clearly more balanced and explosive.
but, we arent going to beat anyone scoring 10-15 points a game. so if it gives JC a little more time to find downfield options, the loss of kerney will be very large.. also, i dont know if trufant is going to play .. he would be a big loss for them..i think he is recovering from a concussion..

A loss to Seattle would be huge, but that alone could not kill our season IMO

i think it would.. it would not be like losing to the Rams, which was considered an aberration.. we have been pushed around physically by both Pitts and Dallas and a loss to a 2-8 Seattle team would be something we wouldnt recover from.
yes, i know we had 2 years of running the table and getting into the playoffs.
this is a different coaching staff. and besides, you can only go down that route so many times..
we lose, and we might as well start playing young players to get them as much PT as possible this year...
