Shally, I wish you had given the initial versions. While you think you have been hard on the team and its management (by implication) IMO you have throttled back to the point that the urgency of your message is too muted.

this is still a family rated forum..lol

and it was written before all the brouhaha over CP hit full force..

still, the team needs to show some urgency

I'm in total agreement with you, Shally. I'm pretty much have given up on this season, especially due to the injuries, and am in next year/off-season mode. If the Skins somehow squeek in I don't think they will last more than 1 game in the playoffs.

As far as our off-season goes we need to get rid of deadwood like Springles, MWashington, Griffin, and Kendall and get younger. Regardless of any trade down scenario in the draft we need to spend at least 3 draft picks on the O and Dlines. If Vinny can't see we need help/youth on the lines then I am convinced the Skins will never win a Superbowl under his stewardship.

Food for thought, if we do get in as the sixth seed, we'll probably be playing either the Cardinals who we beat or the Vikings who we match up against pretty well...I'm still optimistic here...

exactly.. i dont know what seed the giants were last year (4 or 5 ?) but that didnt stop them from running the table.
i love the early matchups for us, if we get inthe playoffs. anyone from the central or the cards would be ideal for us.
after that, you just need to dig down and get after people

if i were going to pick this years "giants" i would seriously look at the panthers. they have a bruising ground attack and have defensive playmakers. i think they will be very tough in the playoffs

I have said it before is some other post awhile back but i think it is worth repeating.

I know teams can go from worst to first and get lucky with the parity here. I just think Gibbs2.0 and Zorn are gona have some of the same problems.

They need to pic a year and go for it.

If it takes 2min to 3 years to fully install the offense, then why wait for the offense to gel when every OL is 65+!!!!!!

why wait 2 years add a bunch of rookie OL and then expect JC to have all the time in the world to get it done.

they need to see who is here short term and who is hear long term. Teams have player turnover every year, but they need to get players in here/outa here that will be for the 2010/2011 season.

always a delicate balancing act.. still, the core players who need to get you to the playoffs and beyond have to be consistent from year to year..you cant change from a passing team to a running team, or from a dominant defensive team to an offensive juggarnaut from year to year. you are who you are and can supplement with added players

that is part of the problem. we dont have any identity under zorn. we clearly are in transition from gibbs to zorn and the roster is still a mishmash of players. this offseason i expect zorn to be able to get players to implement his schemes more fully and, barring injury, i expect the offense to be far more efficient.

the defense is an unanswered question because zorn is an offensive mind and we dont even know if blache is going to want to return-- or be asked to return. there are a lot of us who want to see a much more aggressive defensive scheme than we are ever going to get under blache. who runs the defense will determine what type of schemes are run..

geez its nice to hear from an intelligent and reasonable cowboys fan for once! its been so long since ive heard from any one of the other seven fans out there like you! lol, just a joke of course...

i do disagree however on the "grand scale" of things. imo, you (the FO) needs to detach themselves from the emotional ties (ie. phillip daniels, jansen, MW, SS) and get young. we already have with SS imo with the hall signing. HECK, you guys released Emmitt! but thats what good organizations do. its the nature of the business...the weak get singled out and picked off one by one.

get young ASAP. EVERY decision should be made with "longterm" in mind rather than a quick fix mentality (ex. shouldve gotten mason rather than SA). its time to put EVERYONE in the position of "**** or get off the pot". you would be surprised what you can get out of an individual when challenged...

in the words of my grandfather "if youre not helping, your hurting". there is NO in-between...

Good one, Shally. I also think Coach might be overburdened on the sidelines and needs to take the off season to rethink what he needs to do there. He seems to me a real control freak, so I don't know if he'll really reconsider it though.

he has a good role model then, in mike holmgren.. mike overloaded himself with GM duties, HC, playcalling etc and was in danger of losing ALL jobs in seattle.. once he became just a HC he got a lot more successful..

hopefully zorn can find what he does best and parcel out the rest to other coaches..
