Hesaid on his post game news conference that he does not know what else to do about the penalties especially the false start penalties. He said and I quote, 'I guess if the guys are gonna do it, there gonna do it, not much you can do about it. '
What the heck is that. What do you mean there is not much you can do about it. Somebody better do something about it and quick. I'm just shocked that he would even say such a thing.
I would put there a$$ on the bench if it continues. When we start playing some tougher teams, this junk is gonna kill us.
I mean Jon Jansen had false start called on him on the first play of the game...the first play yall, damn. And at one point we had 3 false starts in a row.:banghead: :banghead: I know I'm being too hard on the guys even though they are pros.

I think it was the center that couldn't hear the snap count or something that caused the two Samuels ones (i may be wrong, I could only half hear the news conference) do you really want to bench two all pro tackles for inferrior players?

ABSOLUTELY!!!! If thats what it takes to correct the problem. They don't want to be called out and embarassed.

You got to do something. Being an all pro does not have anything to do with it. Thatz the problem now. Everybody has to be held accountable. I guarentee you if we start loseing games Ballcoach will start doing something. Mr. Snyder will see to that.

Jansen is just as bad. These guys know better than this crap.

What I heard after the game was that C Larry Moore could not hear Ramsey calling out the play. Therefore, Moore did not snap the ball on time and Samuels moved when he was told to move. Perhaps that is incorrect, but I'm certain I heard that from Bram Weinstein of WTEM 980 AM after the game.

Could the problem be Ramsey not calling loud enough? It would explain alot.

Move on the ball, F the snap count! We played good up until the end and then a plethora of flags.
I really don't care what Spurrier says to the media about the problem. What the hell more do you want from him? They harped on everybody all week, brought in refs, etc. These players need to do it themselves at this point or look for somebody else to pay them. It's Jensen and Samuels over and over again. You want him to sacrifice team intensity for those two?
There's no excuse for Samuels having 2 F'n false starts in a row in the last 2 min when the game is that tight. Geez-us! I'm starting to think this guy will be the cap space of the future.
I'm sure it will be much quieter next week in Philadelphia!

I think Spurrier's comment was a show of frustration on his part.

i dont see what else SS can do. he is just as frustrated as we are. the players have already said that it is something that he stresses alot plus they are pros and are paid big money to do their job. they should be held accountable for any stupid mistakes they may make. its up to them to want to win and in order to win, you have to stop playing like duh masses.....

Honestly, what more can he do?

Well, there was a lot of yelling going on for Ramsey to snap the ball on those two plays. Maybe it was the center that couldn't here the signals

I've asked myself the same thing while reading this post.
He has highly paid professional atheletes on his offensive line. They know when to move...and when not to move. It is up to THEM to do it. EIther they pay attention or they dont'. Yelling at them....or fining them...or even paying a college ref to coach them isnt' always going to help, I'm afraid.
It DOES have to stop, though. And it is in the player's hands to do so.

I bet you'll get Jansen's attention if you try and pull him. How many snaps has the man missed in his career? One (unless that has changed) That's a matter of pride for him. Even sitting them out the first play only means they don't start and they'll get the picture. That means Jansen's string of starts ends. Sure it's only one play, but it was also only one play when he false started. DO something about the problem.

If benching them the answer? So what if you bench Jansen. What good does that do? He may come back the next week and false start on the very first play. And if he is out...do we jeopardize pass protection and increase the chances of seeing a season-ending sack on Ramsey?
Simply put...we need the players to simply play better. That includes concentrating better. These are very talented atheletes who simply need to buck up and do it for themselves.

I agree, there isn't much more the Spurrier can do. The players need to take responsiblity for their actions. I thought they handled it very well until that bad series where they were flagged 3 times in a row.

Agreed. I was for benching, but man, when you are talking about taking someone like Jansen out, you better increase the insurance policy on Mr. Ramsey. No one is gonna try harder to protect Patrick than his best friend, which is Jansen. These gusy need to get together aqnd eliminate the problem. SS's frustration is the same as ours. What can he do? Nothing. These guys need to do it

After all the talk about stupid penalties all week, I couldn't believe that penalty before the first snap. I went nuts and almost turned the game off right then.

There is some followup to this story. SS told the reporter to go ask the players why they jump off sides. I think that is a great idea. I WANT to hear the players explain this (to the media).
John Riggins jumped on JoeT (Saturday night) for jumping on Jansen. HHHmmmmm, Mr. Riggins - Maybe the QB IS RIGHT!

Dan Snyder can make the point with the $$$$ - I don't know what the NFLPA contract says about fines, but when you hit a player where his $$$$ are you can at least get his attention!
This is the league where they play for pay - so why not pay for screwups?
dj_stouty

$ won't make a difference, I'm afraid.
The Skins simply need to bear down and concentrate more. I'm sure no one is as upset with Jansen and Samuels as Jansen and Samuels are with themselves.
