Their secondary is horrible. If I'm the Niners I do anything to draft one of the top CB's in the draft. How bad is their secondary? How good would our defense be with with Bryant Young and Andre Carter?

They drafted Mike Rumph last year, that turned out terribly.

Teams that have pass rush and can't use it
If they can get their hands on Marlin Jackson, D'Angello Hall or Chris Gamble they should have the shut down corner they need.

If it wasn't for the Twins opening up the American League playoffs tomorrow, Gus would be the one and only story in the sports pages today. All I can do is laugh.

Off Topic,

Gus under threw MANY times. He had the right idea though...throw it up and let Moss get it. Smart kid, but still not very talented.

okay, is Gus now sporting a gold tooth? Stewart interviewed him on Monday Night Countdown and looked at though he was.

Why does everybody hate on Gus so much?

Gus plays his best when he's replacing the starter. but once he gets the knod to be the starter, his game goes down very quickly. He plays his best when filling in....

It looks like Gus has gotten the nod for the Vikes again this weekend.
Two in a row?! They are really pushing their luck!

I agree Minnesota Mike. The Vikings are pushing their luck but with Moss on the receiving end of Frerottes throws, they should do well.

That's how it was with Bowman. It's things like this that make you think that if Culpepper were with another team, would he be as good.

Gus was never as good as hyped when he took over here & never as bad as he was slammed when he left.
Gus is a great #2, marginal starter. He won the job here by default, but if we had real management (which Casserly never was) Gus would been a career #2 for us. Signing him to that starting contract money was absurd.
