Does this scare the living hell out of anyone else? Nice to see one of the proponents is married to the failure who led Air America.
Stabenow's husband, Tom Athans, was executive vice president of the left-leaning talk radio network (http://www.wnd.com/index.php?fa=PAGE.view&pageId=88113#) Air America. He left the network in 2006, when it filed for bankruptcy, and co-founded the TalkUSA Radio Network.

The reason there is more conservative talk shows is simply supply and demand. Maybe if they want to pursue this further they could demand that the networks have conservatives to counter Katie Couric, et al. I volunteer as a fellow Arlingtonian to be there to call bull on her bias.

No way will it pass judicial review, much less pass the senate. Its a stupid, shallow political buzzword to draw support for the left.

I love it when people use "progressive" instead of "liberal" - just to make sure no one misses the implication that conservatives are narrow-minded and obtuse.

I'm disappointed that you missed this lol...
Athans, the co-founder and former CEO of the liberal-progressive Democracy Radio, was stopped Feb. 26 by undercover officers investigating a possible prostitution ring in a room at the Residence Inn near Big Beaver and Interstate 75. Athans paid a 20-year-old prostitute $150 for sex in the Troy hotel but was not arrested, according to police reports obtained through a Freedom of Information Act request by The Detroit News.

It shouldn't scare you. That thing wouldn't pass even if there were 100 Democrats in the Senate and 435 in the house.

That's interesting. I don't actually hear liberals use the term progressive nearly as much as I hear Repubicans use it. There's another word that inevitably preceeds it.

You're kidding right? Liberals almost never refer to themselves as liberals.

I don't really hear people on the left frequently referring to themselves under any sweeping idealogical descriptor.
I actually agree with Booser's opinion that to call one set of opinions progressive does insinuate something negative about everyone else. It's sort of like calling one's own group morals voters, values voters, or "security moms" lol-as if there are immoral voters, voters without values, or a large voting block of Moms who want to be in constant danger.

no, but you have to admit that a LOT of liberals run from that label as if it were boiling oil.. it has taken on some perjoritive slant, has it not ?

I think what you say is true as it applies to Public officials, but not the case in reference to individuals not in the public eye.
