Just like clockwork we've re-signed Ethan Albright. Also the Aldridge signing is included.

Here's the link Link (http://www.redskins.com/gen/articles/Redskins_Re_sign_Long_Snapper_Albright_5458.jsp)

1 problem solved... all our worries should be that easy..

didnt we sign a LS as a free agent ? that guy is playing for a spot elsewhere-- or he is going to actually have to play a position

The best longsnapper in the league, baby.

I know long snappers get almost no accolades during the season (and their name is only mentioned on a goof up), but do they get pro bowl consideration? I can't remember.

Seems like a nice thing to do for a player from each conference who nobody has heard of (save for the extreme fans of each team). I would think they do, but if so, why isn't Albright always selected?

And if not, then who does the long snapping in the pro bowl game?

Just a random question to help kill time here at work. :-)

Albright represented us at the Pro Bowl after the '07 season. Not sure why not after '08. Maybe they spread that honor aroudn to different players since they arent officialy voted in. (or maybe this time a voted lineman can play LS?)

YIKES...I hate the plural use of the word "Kickers" I'm sure you mean kicker-punter but we seem to go through multiples of both each season...sheesh...

One of the few consistently good performers on the team.

long snappers dont make the probowl ballot and arent voted in. each probowl team gets to select one Need Player to join the team and its usually a long snapper. it was great that atleast one probowl coach finally gave albright the recognition of being a good long snapper in 2007. while he may deserve to be a regular long snapper in the probowl year in and year out, it just doesnt work that way.

It's good that most people have never heard his name, that means he's doing his job. Good signing

That's what I think, too. All I know is, you don't hear Albright's name all year, and that's a good thing.
