Well we didnt do anything too special... I had already sent roses to my wifes work on Friday and had a hot candle lit bath ready for her when she got home. On Sat morning I cooked breakfast for the 3 of us, then we went to Tristans church league basketball game. After that we came back home, took a long walk around the neighborhood, returned and had a few adult beverages with some good friend. Then I cooked steaks, grilled bacon wrapped asparugus and baked potatoes for everyone. We played cards, listened to music and had a nice evening at home...

Bacon wrapped asparagus, gotta try that. By the way, I'll be hitting up our friend again for some barbecue.

I bought roses for my wife, 2 dozen. She got me a solid chocolate heart that weighs 3 pounds. I think it will take about a year to eat it. We made steaks and crab legs, and then fell asleep from being so full.

Sara and I went to a pretty cool restaurant in town called Juleps. They do low-country food very well. I had raw oysters to start with Beef Tenderloin w/ potatos. Sara had a salad with seared rockfish. To finish, we had table-side-prepared Banannas Foster. YUM

Afterwards, the plan was to go see "Hes just not that into you" but the line was wrapped around the theater. Then we decided to go bowling, but the wait was 1.5 hours, so instead we went to a wine bar and shared a decent bottle of Pinot Noir.

Next time, I'll remember to buy the tickets earlier or make a reservation at the bowling alley. lol. Considering we are in a bad recession, there sure were a lot of people out on the town on Saturday!

I watched the NBA all star festivities and then went up to a bar/club in college park. Fun night, I would say, even though I was Valentine-less

My wife and I have a long standing agreement not celebrate Valentines Day. However, last year I kind of violated by re-gifting a box of chocolates to her. So this year she told me she wanted a box of white chocolates.

Now of course, you can't just goto CVS and get a box of whit chocolates. Luckily you can goto Godiva and create your own box, and so that's what I did. a Box of Godiva White chocolate creations.

Same agreement my wife and I have – we refuse to celebrate a day created by Hallmark . Beside – we express our love for each other everyday ----- we don’t need a designated day.

We went to a restaurant called SignorZilli belonging to a famous Chef here call Aldo Zilli. Everything was perfect from a food point of view, I had Minestrone soup, Veal Milanese and Pistachio and Chocolate Ice Cream with Biscotti. Belinda had King Prawn Bruschetta, Lobster Ravioli and shared my Ice Cream. We then went to watch Notorius at the cinema which was frankly pants(a vehicle to raise Puffy to sainthood). Loved to hear the music all over again. We then came home to an empty house and promptly woke up at 6am having both fallen asleep on the sofa.

It was a lovely night.

Honestly, it's a brilliant invention. Most women know it's a huge scam but they don't want to be left out, need their romantic notions coddled or, at least, they don't want to miss an opportunity for free stuff. And since most women think too much, even if they know it's a scam, if they let their minds gnaw on it long enough it'll somehow be your fault if you let Valentines day pass without doing 2 things for her on either side of that "occasion", lol. Brilliant.

Er...BNG...?

Anyway...

Hubbo helped me put the laundry room back together (I painted it last week)

(Which is all women really want btw...help with stuff...)

Then I took my 3 favorite boys to The Cheesecake Factory at the Dulles Town Center, in the off chance Chris Cooley and wife were there. Where I discovered Pineapple Mojitos (btw Big Mike promises to make these for me at the next tailgate) and had chocolate/coconut cheesecake YUMMMM!

Then we shopped at Sears and H & M

Pretty much the perfect day!

The world needs more women who think like you and less who aspire to be a "Teenage Shopaholic" well into their 40s lol.
