So now the guy admits to trying and failing to raise money for Blagojevich around the time when the senate seat became vacant.
Just recently he admitted he spoke with Blagojevich's brother, chief of staff, and two others-even though he told the Illinois Senate he only spoke with one Blago associate.
Also he rolls out these buttheads who accuse anyone of opposing his nomination of being racist.
WTF! Why on Earth did they seat this scum? The guy is every bit, if not more slimy, than Blago. Sheesh.

Because the Dems were stupid?
They have to expel him from the Senate now, no choice. Its pretty clear that he perjured himself multiple times and his excuses were just awful(he was confused about what questions he was answering?). But it looks like the Illinois GOP let the Dems off the hook and will try to impeach him.

Because 60 is the magic number. They would have seated Franken (and might still) if they thought they could legally do it.

They would gotten a Dem sooner or later from Illinois. Even if it happened after Blago was pushed out. They were intimidated by Burris' supporters playing the race card and caved.

exactly.. it was horrendous theater for harry reid to see pictures of burris shivering outside the senate doors being refused entry by rich white folk..
they couldnt stand the heat.. now they are stuck with a tarnished senator for 2 years.. no way they have the stones to boot him out.. they would just love for the illinois republicans to do the job for them and try to impeach him.. wont happen

corruption in illinois is a bi partisan tradition Dave. the former gov was GOP and was brought down on corruption charges here.
I am ashamed to admit I think Blags pulled some great theater and the Senate had no choice but to seat Burris. The Ill legislature should have voted to impaeach blags before he could appoint Burris. Now they will have to expel him...and good riddance.
