I'm not sure yet what I think of this interview. On one hand Los says that he is movitated. The problem? He's motivated b/c it's a contract year and he wants to get paid...

Not a problem getting paid can be a great motivation. If it helps him play better the Skins are all the better for it.

Rogers sounds like he thinks pretty highly of himself, him and hall should get along great.
He is an average cornerback that can play great at times but is too inconsistent and not being able to catch has cost us some games. I don't think he will be worth the big contract he will want after next year. He has yet to show us a complete season of quality play.

when his agent submita a number the skins should bring up every dropped interception and negotiate a deduction from the original number submitted by the agent by $800,000.....

"It was like, 'Let's put Shawn in there. He'll go out there and make some plays,' but Cincinnati, one of the worst teams in the league, tore us up," Rogers said
that is funny......lol

Maybe he meant " If I could hang onto them balls I'd be getting some of that money"

if playin for money in a contract year makes him play like a number one lockdown corner, so be it. its the nature of the business, and he played like a pro bowler for a good amount of the season and theirs no reason he shud have been benched for shawn fragile springs because he earned the starting spot all season. hopefully next year hell sign a three or four year extension to stay with this team
at this point if we can secure landry-horton-hall-rogers well have an amazing and young secondary for possibly the next six years. the FO made the mistake of building this team from the backside but at least if that was their strategy they can keep that part of the roster secure and now focus on the defensive line and linebacker corps

and im sure this post is in the wrong spot but it makes me sad sometimes to imagine having a taylor-landry and hall and rogers combo playing in the backfield. taylor is an enforcer and landry is turning into a very elegant playing safety while hall is a gambler who can make plays and carlos can lock down number one receivers and it would have been a thing of beauty to see those four parts meet in one spot

next season...
or 2011 ... although his contract ends because there is no CBA in place and he has less than 6 years of eligible play going into the uncapped season (2010) he only is eligible to be a RFA not UFA.

How about 2 million per interception for Carlos Hands of Stone Rogers. Perhaps the most freaking frustrating player on the roster. I still have nightmares about that playoff game against Seattle...ugh.

I like the idea of a pretty modest contract for Rogers. Something like 4yrs 30 million, 10 in guarantees. But with interception incentives that would push him to being one of the top paid corners in the game. If money's his thang to go for, let him grab it(if he can).

Rogers thinks way to much of himself. Carlos Stonehenge, the man with hands of stone. He really should think before he speaks. He just let the whole world know that he is mostly concerned with the financial aspects of football. These guys make so much that they should only talk about playing better. He needs to go to work and really learn how to catch a football.
Here's what he should do in the off season. He should carry a football with him everywhere. To get use to the feel of leather and to get use to holding it. This way when the ball gets thrown in his direction, he will know how it feels and be actually able to catch it. Got it Carlos. Get a football and carry it all the time, you will become a better football player.

I am saying it again...i dont know how...but Carlos will have at least 6 INTS this year. The vision of a huge contract does something to a human being. Maybe its concentration, maybe its stickem, maybe he pays off opposing qbs...but he will have his best year. If any of you have questions...my Magic 8 Ball says... "Ask again later" haha

Carlos is happy again because he knows he is starting. If he could actually catch i think he would have been a probowler this last year.
He has himself in the right position most of the time, its just that he cant close the deal. Hopefully he has worked on that this offseason.

I agree about the first 8 games of the season. Carlos was a top CB for that period, but he dropped off and actually became a liability by the end of the season. I think his confidence was rattled after having dropped so many more sure INTs. That's why I was so surprised to hear the trash coming out of his mouth after the season about him being a top CB.

Corners have to believe in themselves or they can't play on the island. Listening to Rod Woodson talk about how long it took him to adapt mentally to playing corner was a real eye-opener for me. Not too many guys have had the physical tools Woodson had and it took him fuly two years to start to play the corner with confidence after being a safety in college.

If he actually caught even half the balls that hit him right in the hands this wouldn't be an issue. Carlos is good but could be elite if he could catch even a percentage of the balls within his range.
See what he does this season with AH there to help improve the DL. I also hope the team will draft at least one DE in the first day.

AH won't fix his hands. That's something where Carlos needs to take significant time during the season -- and especially during the offseason -- to fix that problem. To me, it sounds like he doesn't consider it a problem and I have heard nary a peep of him trying to fix his case of the dropsies. That pisses me off.

Incentive contracts seem nice, but then you get into the playing time factor.
Say he needs 5 INT for a big pay day, and has 4 already, he gets dinged up and misses a 1/2 of a game, then next game isnt fully cleared to start cause the trainers doesnt think he is 100%. Is management behind the not ready cause they wana save money???
When mind games are played like that, it can become ticky-tacky.
