I am pretty good at math....if we average 8 points a game and only let up 3 max...we win every game by 5. Now the 8 points comes like this....somehow we score a td...but since colt brennan is our kicker, he misses....then AH will get a safety. GO SKINS !!!!!!

might be...lol....jk... he had a decent game or 2, but on the whole i think we could have kept brooks and achieved the same thing over the course of a year..

Didnt you hear...snyder is attempting to get a new rule adopted. You use 2 punters....the first punter kicks it 27 yards to the 2nd punter, who then kicks it 33 yards....and now we have a 60 yd punt. GO SKINS !!!

Well, compare for yourself and tell me if it was worth dicking around with a punter in the first few days of FA when we have yet to address OT, DE or OLB...

i dont think it is a zero-sum issue as far as P versus LB, OL.. all of them have to get done

you and i are on the same page when it comes to team needs, for the most part.
i think they need to get those other positions settled, but punter was still something that needed to get done.

regardless of Johnson's resume last year, i still think he is step up over plackenmeier, who just looked terrible to me.. i would have had no problems with Brooks getting a second look, but he is out of the equation now

My point is, we have gaping holes at several positions that need to be addressed. Plus, for once, we have the cap space to do something about it and the best players available at the best price points that FA has seen in years.

And yet, we're putzing around, signing a freaking punter who was statistically worse in every major category last season than what we already had. That's like having a broken leg, cracked ribs and femoral hemorrhage but taking time to make sure that a hang nail is taken care of first.

Buffoonery, plain and simple.

Well, then maybe they should have an even lower opinion of who we currently have. Since they clearly have no idea what relative talent is (given past FA signings, draft futility, etc.) they might want to take a gander at this:

ESPN 2009 NFL Free Agent Rankings (http://insider.espn.go.com/nfl/fa?&action=login&appRedirect=http://insider.espn.go.com/nfl/fa)

The best part is the ranking scores are free. And sortable. :) If Snyderrato want to spring for the $30 or whatever it is for an annual subscription to ESPN Insider, they can even read the scouting reports.

BTW, you'll notice that Phillip Daniels' score is a 60. Out of 100. Which is only 5 points better than a corpse.

Buffoonery, I say!

but they are nothing, if not consistent in one regard-- they over value older players and under value younger ones, all things being equal

fooled me....:moon2:

actually, the more i thought about it, the more i thought that they were going to use the cap space for a trade,, especially since they didnt sign someone right away and dont seem to be anxious to do anything right now- despite all the obvious needs.. and they still might do that in the end

i will be the first to admit that figuring out what these yo-yo's are up to is nigh unto impossible because they never seem to have any plan, or usual way of addressing needs... figuring them out is like figuring out Brownian Motion of atoms-- it appears completely random to the observer

Seahawks re-signed OT Ray Willis to a two-year, undisclosed contract. Willis, the Seahawks top backup offensive lineman the past couple of seasons, ended up starting 10 games last year. He was courted by the Redskins before deciding to stay in Seattle.

see what our own chief Mod has had to say on that one.. he isnt a fan of Brown.

that said, the guy has had a bad body and poor conditioning since his college days. he has been a fat man.. Dockery is said to be in far better shape now. Heyer seems to be working in that direction. finally, someone posted here that Brown was supposedly working himself into a lot better shape recently.. maybe the guy has potential ? he sure has size, so who knows ?
