I've been following this case a while now via reason and its one of the sickest things I've seen our government do. It does not look like the conviction will be changed in any way and Lynch will be in jail for teh rest of his life. So far President Obama has been silent about Lynch despite a ton of pressure from the libertarian community and medical marijuana advocates.

Sorry, I just noticed the thread. I think I got a contact buzz off of Keino earlier, lol.
The drug laws and enforcement policy in this country are a joke. They're trying to legislate morality and common sense. Though some folks don't like to hear it, the US could learn a lot about how Europe has handled decriminalization of most drug usage and has instead focused on prevention through education and treatment for addicts. Their drug policy enforcement costs are much lower as are their incarceration and addict rates. Coincidence? Maybe, but when your policy doesn't work and another one seems to work 12 times over, you might want to look at altering your policy.
That said, aside from scant evidence for glaucoma treatment, marijuana for medical purposes has shown very little promise.

Agreed. And if he didn't sell federal weight(he was selling dozens of pounds), California wouldn't have prosecuted him. He got tripped up by his own greed.
That being said, Pot should be legalized(and heavily regulated like booze is)-but I'm not going to rush to the barricades for someone selling it while its still illegal.
