This year it is my 40th Birthday and my treat to myself will be a trip to D.C. to see the Redskins. My birthday is the 23rd of December so the likely candidate games are either the Giants on the 21st or the Cowboys on the 27th.
I need advice in terms of which game you would feel I will be able to get a ticket or two for. They are the perfect games for me to see but given that Christmas is in the middle I can only pick one. Given that the big game is the Cowboys I would love to see that one but will I be able to get a ticket? Any help getting a ticket for the game would be wonderful.
Any advice on recommended hotels would also be welcome. As well as advice in getting to the game.
Needless to say I would love to hook up with as many of you as possible.

I don't think finding tickets to either should be a problem at all. Ebay, Stubhub, and many other ticket vendors should provide you with ample selection.
Personally if I had one game to choose it would be Dallas. Firstly b/c it is Dallas. Secondly b/c I would think they stand a much better chance of winning the Dallas game.

Hi Flave
Although it wasn't the Giants or the Cowboys, I was able to buy tickets from the booking office at FedEx the day before Jags game in 2006 and the Miami opener in 2007 without making prior arrangements. And at face value too. Although I did take my passport to give them something to laugh at...
Not that I'm suggesting you leave everything to the last minute, but it's an option, particularly around the holiday season with a lot DC workers heading home for Chrimbo.
You could always try tugging at their heart-strings and saying you're coming all the way from quaint lil' England specially for the game.
Getting to the game is easy - take the metro to Morgan-Boulevard and it's about a 10-15 minute walk to the stadium.

I would definitely go to the dallas game. The atmosphere is nuts, although the air seems tense and hostile given the number of dallas dorks that show up. Plus, given the whor(d)es of dallas showing up, i imagine there are a lot of tickets to be found, just get em before they do.

Dallas would seem the logical one BUT it could also be a meaningless game by that point IF the Skins have another 2008 season. Maybe you pick the game that would be designated at the hR 2009 annual tailgate if it develops.

As my Birthday falls during the Holiday period that is when I should go really, it helps me to get the finances in place as well. Being in the playoff hunt would be great but isn't my driving consideration and I think a Dallas or NY game would negate that being a divisional game.

I think Dallas is the game, it just has to be really.
Realistically what is the earliest I will be able to buy a ticket off stub hub etc?

Agreed. And there's no doubt that he'll be able to hook up with a whole bunch of hR folks for the pregame and postgame tailgate in the "secret" lot. Actually, since it's a night game in December, there likely won't be much of a postgame tailgate but the pregame tailgate will be at least 6 hours long, lol.

i would choose the giants game, the cowboys game could possibly be flexed out of the sunday night spot if one or neither team is contending. with the giants game the start time wont change, allowing you to set a more definitive schedule around the game, ahead of time

Yeah, but he'd be at the game on the same day either way. In fact, I'd prefer a 4:15 game to a prime time game if I went to FedEx. The tailgating is better because you can do it on both sides of the game.
