Yes, this is a geek thread so take heed.

I just added a wireless-n router to my fios setup to get better wireless speed. I actually added the Belkin wireless-n router as an access point to my FIOS Actiontec router. I do see a slight increase in speed but when I view the connection status in Vista, the speed setting fluctuates. I did turn off the wireless radio on the actiontec and the Belkin does reside in the same subnet as the Actiontec. Just wondering why the speed is fluctuating. Also, my NIC does support wireless-n.

I'm trying to network my PS3, MacBook, desk top, and DirecTV into one.

I'm not sure, and this is just a thought, but I recall seeing somewhere that there are 2 operational modes for the Belkin wireless N specification. Each has a different range, with the lesser range being only slightly better than wireless G. It might be a packet encryption or boost mode thing or something.

Where's csquared?

I'm trying to network my PS3, MacBook, desk top, and DirecTV into one. That should be easy. Are you joking around or being serious. If the latter, what issues are you having?

Currently, I have two notebooks, a netbook, wireless printer, xbox 360, nintendo wii and, bluray player on my network. All work fine.

I would override and select 40 MHz. That should boost your range. Then again, as I learned with Bluetooth, increased reception might be a 2 way street.

That's very true. I'll check it out and see what happens

Sort of on-topic...

I'm not 100% impressed with the router I got from FIOS. Its made by "Actiontec" and it has a sticker on it saying it was designed exclusively for FIOS and that other routers may not work as well. Obviously this isn't true, right?

We get a decent signal for our laptops...BUT (and this is the dealbreaker) I can never get a constant signal for my Wii. Everytime I spark up Madden or FIFA and try to play online, I get booted w/in 2-3 minutes".

Any suggestions on buying a new wireless router that works well with Fios?

I wanna say that the NAT settings on the router are set to strict. You can reset them and lower them. I used to have the same issues with XBOX live and had to reset them.

Correct. I wouldn't try something else.
