So Letterman thinks it's funny to joke about an underage girl because her mom is a Republican. I don't see anyone clamoring for him to lose his job a la Imus. It's apparently ok to joke about a Republicans child but God forbid you call adult women "nappy headed hos"

Big mistake by Letterman, and he should be suspended for awhile. But-and I'm not defending his joke at all-I think when they wrote that joke, they thought the daughter with Palin was the high school dropout who got pregnant(Bristol? Friend's wedding?). There's no way that anyone would make an underaged sex joke like that intentionally(which is more offensive to Arod).

And the nappy headed hoes comment didn't sink Imus, imo. Going on Sharpton's radio show and saying "You people..." is what sunk him imo.

i wasnt even aware that letterman had caused a furor--- it was impossible to ignore the firestorm that followed imus' statements

that is the difference.. the media didnt wrap themselves in outrage over letterman

Some dumb liberal whore on tv just blamed it on Palin having her kids in the spotlight. Simply unreal. I hope someone says something like this about Barry's daughters. They've been on stage with him. I guess they're fair game.

I guess one of his daughters would have to get 'knocked up' first in order for the joke to happen. I'm not condoning it but it seems pretty obvious that the joke was not meant for the 14 year old. Either way, not a wise decision from Letterman.

None of those things would matter if it was a child of a democrat. I am quite sure of that.

i am with you on this one.. even while the kennedy spawn spiraled down into one debauche or another, most of the media has treated the entire clan with deference, as if they were royalty

I'm sure you objected to all the Chelsea jokes twelve years ago.

Clearly a double standard. And it gets real old real quick.
