View Full Version : Lets try a new game: State elimination game
CarMike
06-22-2009, 06:48 PM
Lets see where hR members would like to live in the US.
All 50 states will be included. However, I broke them down into 4 sections.
Southeast--Northeast--Midwestern--West
We'll start off with the Southeast. Once that's done we'll move on to the Northeast and so on. We'll take the final two from each part of the country and have a final 8. Then we'll do one more to see which state wins.
Here are the rules:
* You may vote only ONCE a day.
* Vote + for one state, and - for one state.
* Each "+" vote counts as 1 point to the good.
* Each "-" vote counts as -2 points
* Each state will start with 10 points.
* Once a state has 0 points, they are eliminated.
* Update the list after you vote.
* If you see that someone else beat you to the punch and voted just a minute or two before you did, please update your list accordingly. AFTER YOU VOTE, ALWAYS GO BACK AND CHECK TO SEE IF SOMEONE VOTED RIGHT BEFORE YOU VOTED, AND IF YOU NEED TO AMEND THE TALLY.
* Once a state is eliminated, start a tally underneath the list which includes the date a state was eliminated, along with the name of the state which was eliminated.
*The thread may be closed from time to time to make sure the #s are right. It's very important to make sure we do the best to keep up with votes
Should be fun. Hope you guys enjoy the game.
PS. Please don't get upset if your state gets voted out. lol There can only be one winner. :)

The state finally put the slogan "Sweet Home ALABAMA" on the license plates this year, so be on the look out for them. Take I-65 South and go from "mountains," to the plains, to the Gulf. It's all down hill and pretty. :)

Very surprised to see Tennessee get cut before a state like Bama. Is there any reasoning behind the voting? I realize VA probably got cut as a slight to the VA posters here, but what do people have against Tennessee? The state has great BBQ and lots of hot women (well at least in Knoxville they do).

I wish that people had to give a valid reason for their votes. I'd love to know how many people would chose to live in Louisiana over any of the other states and why, when it wins this.

I gave my reason for not liking Northern Virginia(The rest of Va i don't have any issue with). Sorry if it offends anyone but the foreign population is very high there. The drivers are terrible(which could be said about any town in any state.I just have experienced it quite a bit more there.) and traffic is a beast.
And as for my Louisiana votes, New Orleans was such a cool place when i was there. Good food, good people, and just a historic city.

You did? I must have missed that. All I saw was that you hated NoVA but didn't have a problem with central VA, whatever that is. As for the multi-cultural comment, I don't take offense but I think you are too used to Annapolis, which BTW, has the biggest percentage, per capita, of arseholes in the whole Metropolitan area, IMO.
