While many have complained about the new rule of when they want to tailgate in two spaces, they must do so in designated parts of the lot, the biggest changes have flown under the radar.
First, we know there's a new parking lot (Gray) for 3,000 additional cars that is beyond Green, but costs just as much. That will bring in 3,000 x 35 = $105,000 per game.
Second, the Redskins created two Platinum lots. On the north side, it used space that formerly was Orange and Green. On the south side, it used space the formerly was purple and Orange. With these lots you get an assigned space with your name painted in the space. I have no idea what these cost, but I bet it's far more than the $45 Orange price.
Third, Orange may have lost some spaces due to the Platinum lots, but they more than make it up because the Orange lot was more than doubled on the northside by coverting former Green lot space to Orange. So Green parking is now 500 or more yards from the stadium.
The Green lot is no longer close, and on the northside, is much smaller.
I think the big loser is handicap space, unless they let handicap park in purple. The second loser are those who park in Green on the north side.
Take a look at the Parking map on redskins.com.
Green parking tickets will beless desirable, and the street price of these tickets should drop from $600 -$650 to less than $500.
For those who tailgate in Green and want to use two spaces, it is no big deal. The distance from the front row to the back row is half of what it used to be.
The Orange parking is now far more desirable than in the past.
