So my freezer has alot of ice build up that is starting to become very annoying. Rather than defrost the freezer (Have nowhere to put the meat) I decided to go at it with one of those knife sharperners and a hammer. While trying to pry away some ice,the genius that I am ended up poking a small hole in the side of the freezer. I didn't hear any burst of gas or anything so I'm hoping I'm ok

Does anybody think I will need to replace the refridgerator? Can I plug the hole with permagum or just leave it be and hope the landlord doesn't notice when I move out eventually?

This is not my finest hour, I tell you that :smash:

The sides are only vinyl and insulation. Put some duct tape over it and you're fine.

Probably didn't hurt it BUT you still need to defrost it, clean it, and dry it out now. You can get some all-weather sealant to take care of the hole

Every mistake should be a learning experience. In the future, do what you're supposed to do and try to plan for it. Defrosting usually is a bi-annual deal.

LMAO! Duct tape with a little white paint... ;)

I like Dave's idea. Some duct tape should do the trick.
