I heard Champ has a fractured wrist you think hes gonna play?

Champ has a sprained left shoulder and a chip fracture of a bone in his left wrist. He says he will start and play. Since he played with these injuries last week and had his best game of the year [which is really saying something], I have no doubt he will play again.
One thing about Champ some might not know: He has never missed an NFL game. This is his fifth season and he has never missed a game. That's a total of 70 games, including two playoff games in January 2000. Not bad at all.

Especially for a defensive back.

Champ needs the bye week. he needs that week off to heal a bit and get rested up. My concern is continuing to play with a wrist injury liek that can make it worse. BUT, as Tom said, seems when Bailey is licking his wounds, he ups the level even higher. I think his game was high last week as well, because the defense tried to go toward Champ at time because of injury, which turned to be a mistake.

Yeah, Mark, I was shocked the Patriots tried to test Bailey. Most teams don't even look at his side of the field. Well, the result of that Patriots game will be a lesson to the rest of the league about throwing at the Champ.

I don't see him sitting out. He doesn't make tackles with his hands anyway. I heard he was really sore after the game last week but he also said he expected it. I can see the Eagles trying to test him but I see him winning that battle.

Agree that Champ needs a break (with those injuries) and look what we have in the next three games - Eagles - Bucs - Bills. Not good. ..... Maybe rotate him (starting this game) on a "As Needed" basis.

We don't need Champ against the Eagles. Their WR corps are abismal.

Hey as long as Ade Jimoh doesn't find his way onto the field, a CB rotation might be a way to give champ a breather every once in a while. Champ, is a gamer. A playmaker. I don't think he'll want any part of a rotation and he'll start and play his best unless he can't walk. Remember it's contract year. I'm sure he's trying to show that he's gritty and tough by making line of scrimage tackles like the one on the fumble he forced as well as playing injured. I think we need to pay him what ever he wants and let samuels walk when the time comes but alas, that's an argument for another thread!

The contract year thing is irrelevant when talking about Champ's effort and production. He's made numerous comments about accountability and simply striving to be the best at his position. Its a pride thing first and foremost. He'll play at Philly and do a fine job. Also, this is the NFL, Pinkston and Thrash may seem like bums 85% of the time, but they wouldn't be starters in this league if they didn't have the ability to make big plays. WE NEED CHAMP.

Its funny you say that...b/c Bauman is listed as "questionable" for this week's game in Philly.
Like it or not...we may see Jimoh some more....

I've heard some comments from Spurrier on Ade Jimoh and he'll be lucky to see the light of day.

Remember that if Champ [or Smoot or Bauman] miss a game, Jimoh automatically becomes our third cornerback. That means he'd be on the field for at least 15-20 plays. Think about that.

The Skins would use either terrell or Franz as a back up Corner before Jimoh would see that much time
