He showed me why we got him and why Martz let him go. I know alot of guys are defending his fumble by saying it was just a good defensive play. Well I taped the game and watched the play a few more times and what I got from it was when he was down field he was carrying the ball way to far from his body. Thats why the defender was able to smack it away from behind. The fact he was able to get that far down was amazing though. That play should have been for no gain or a loss. What do you guys think? He was a steal for a 4th but he needs to work on his ball handling imo.

I still say it was a good play by the defender. That's the only fumble I've seen this year from Trung and it was a darn good play.
It was funny, he shot outta that hole so fast that the Camera almost got left behind.

I thought it was a great play by the defender and a bad job of securing the ball by Trung. My guess is that he thought he was farther out in front than he was. [Love the play Rod Gardner made by recovering the fumble. Not only did he keep possession for us, but it shows he was still working hard on the play, going down there to block for Trung. Gotta love that hustle.]
Right now, I'd have to say Trung has been well worth the fourth round pick we gave up for him. [Not to mention that stiff of a guard we unloaded on St. Louis as part of the deal.]

He was a steal for a foruth rounder. You never wanna see a fumble, but man that defender made an excellent play. Trung will correct that. i am sure he has looked at that tape several times and does not want to be known as a fumbler. He started anew here and am sure he has seen that tapes many, many times.

As I said on another thread a few days ago, Trung is NOT the workhorse that Steven Davis is........but TRUNG makes 15, 20+ yard runs out of nothing......whereas Steven Davis would have made 3 or 4 yards. Not saying that TRUNG is better than Davis, but it is refreshing to see these really BIG runs (almost weekly). NOW IF WE COULD JUST PASS TO HIM MORE........

Yea but I really like the job Chad Morton is doing with the passes too. I know I might get some criticism from some, but I like our running back situation now better than anytime Davis was here. I think we are more flexible to deal with anything now. With Davis he could easily be stopped if the line was stacked. More backs mean more running styles which mean more headaches for the defense

That one play really showed you that much?!
IMHO Martz is a loser who cares what he thinks. As far as the fumble the defender came at a great angle and Trung was going full speed. It was a good play by the defender coming from behind. Fumbles I consider egregious are those caused by contact and those caused by defenders in front of the carrier.

my only criticism of that play is I felt he should've cut the other way off of Gardner's Block.....he does that and it's a foot race to the corner of the endzone and 1 guy to beat not 2.
Sometimes you have to give credit to the athlete in the wrong colors, this is one of those times......The guy made a heck of a play.

Yea, I agree the defender did a great job and I'm beginning to believe Trung is worth our fourth. I don't like the dancing around to find a hole but if he keeps this up, I can learn to appreciate it.

I don't like the dancing either, but he's got a great average and is explosive in the open field. And I also believe the fumble was more due to the defender's arm coming in just right than Trung mishandling the ball.

Well do you guys remember the advertisement for the football game on N-64 where they said to Faulk, "..now we want you to fumble the ball." and Faulk said no i don't do that. Well now go back to last season does anyone remeber the time Faulk fumbled it 4 times within 4 games i thought that was hilarious. But other than than i think the reason martz didn't like Trung was becuz of his fumbling statistics compared to that of Faulk. don't you guys think so. I mean Faulk isn't known for fumbling like that commericial entailed. What was really funny about that commercial though was when they through him a doll and then he dropped the ball. LOL
