The season is about to start. It is the best time of year. One thing my friends and I like to do is make lists/rankings for NFL players. I thought it would be fun to see how peoples list would differ going into this season. So here is my list of top ten Qbs. Who are yours?
Top Ten QBs:
1. Brady
2. Peyton Manning
3. Drew Brees
4. Kurt Warner
5. Aaron Rodgers
6. Roethlisberger
7. McNabb
8. Rivers

I'd put Favre at 15th. These rankings are based on only this season, right? I think Favre will do very well in Minnesota and a guy like Palmer is coming off injury and their offense is pretty terrible these days.
I also think Flacco is staring to earn his keep enough to be considered top 15.

This is all subjective. I am planning to put up other positions too (WR, RB Etc) but we could expand it to a top 20? I just think top ten is more manageable.
Flacco is coming along nicely. He is close but I would rather have all the guys I mentioned before him.

just curious how much love there is for Aaron Rodgers.. has he done anything yet to deserve that kind of adulation ?

The 4000+ yards and 32 total TDs last year did it for me.

There's been only 2 Qb single year performances over 4000 yards for the skins: Schroder in 1986 and Brad Johnson in 1999. Jurgensen had the most single season TDs in a season for a skins QB: 31 in 67.
So, its been a bit rare lol

I like how Rodgers throws for 4,000 and he is automatically annointed; yet Cutler throws for 4,500 yards and every excuse possible is created to downplay his performance.
I don't think 4,000+ yards comes by accident, so I think both guys are poised to be good to great NFL QBs. But I still think Rodgers could slip; so my jury is still out on him. I don't see him throwing 4K every year like Manning can. If you look back to 2008, his best two games were against Detroit. (600+ yards; 6TDs)
I think Rodgers will have a big test this year; especially since he will get to faced Baltimore and Pittsburgh.

I think Cutler is a good QB, but imo he's crowded out by other guys who produced very well without the talent he had in Denver. If he puts up 4000 yards with Hester and Earl Bennett as his WRs and the oline they have, then he's top 10 for certain.

This article fits this thread very nicely. A breakdown of the top 49 quartetrbacks in the NFL, done by Trent Dilfer. I'm only part way through it, but it is very refreshing to see an article on ESPN (or any site for that matter) that is legitimate and not done just to provoke a response. Well done Trent.

Thanks for posting this. Great job by Trent...and I really can't argue with any of his rankings.
