View Full Version : Redskins seem "uninspired"...

I have been watching the Philly area sports this week and it seems that our Redskins players seem a bit non-chalaunt about this game. Are they being cautious?
Most of the interviews show them shrugging their shoulders and commenting lightly... where is the confidence? We will need it!

Maybe Spurrier has told them not to give the Eagles any bulletin board material. I think Donovan McNabb will be fired up enough as it is. After the savage beat-downs the Eagles put on the Skins last year, maybe our guys should keep their heads down until they do something to be proud of.
Nothing would make me happier than beating the Eagles. They're starting to equal the Cowboys as the team I loathe the most.

Spence, you hit the "nail on the head."
Nothing would make me happier than beating the Iggles too. Not just beating them, but crushing them.
Make it 0-3 at the Linc for those Eagles.:D

I think maybe some of the players are remembering last season. I like them having confidence this early in the season but don't want us to get cocky. It's still early in the season. Maybe they are lowballing them. I saw a quote from Arrington in the Wash Post where the columnists said they had an intensive practice on Wednesday and Lavar said something to the effect of yeah, we're trying to get on a roll here and no one should get in our way.
Nothing would be sweeter than beating the Iggles at home, that would be sweet and they would be 0-3 at home in that new stadium.

Non-chalaunt - No! Cautious - Yes!
Skins don't need to give Philly any more bulletin board insentives than they already have this week. .. Myself, I'd play it as low key as possible - UNTIL Sunday.

I won't question this teaqms desire this season until they prove they have fallen back to the past 8 years attitude. I just don't see that this year. I see a team playing with hearta nd conviction. This team is fired up, they know they still ahve much to prove. They have not showed me the poor attitude yet this season, so for me, the benefit of doubt is given.

I think this team reflects their coach.
Spurrier is decidedly low-key during interviews.
When asked questions in interviews what does SS usually do? Shrugs his shoulders, screws up his face and answers in a nonchalant manner.

I really don't care as long as we win. We are coming off of a game that we almost gave away. I hope the team is busy getting ready and not having time to make any comments about sunday. We need to get down to business now. We got a hell of a stretch........... and all of their starting QB's are playin'!

The Skins will be feisty on the field this Sunday and not in the press. Going 1-5 in the division & 0-2 vs Philly last year should be enough to motivate all 53 guys this week. Maybe there's a little quiet confidence thing going as our guys believe that Ram can pick apart their patchwork secondary and the defense is not afraid of the Eagles running backs.

Let the Skins do their talking on the field where it counts.

I'll be shaking my fist at Donovan McNabb all game long. When is the game starting!? Why do they show the games so late? They're stupid. That's why everybody does everything.

i don't know about you, but it's kinda of nice for once not hearing a Redskin shoot their mouth off about how they're going to win or something like that. I used to hate hearing Westbrook, Terell, Smoot, etc. quotes about us killing the opponent. Made me cringe everytime I hear something stupid like that. Cause we never backed it up

Amen. I dont mind smack talk from players when they back it up, but too many times, people like Smoot woudl shoot off, and get burned for it. Take it to the field, play the game, walk out winners, and then move on. It's business, treat it as such!

This place will be quite interesting on Monday. I'll have to dress up an avatar in black and remember to whisper as everyone will be in mourning.
