Hey there my friends. I am flying into ATL tomorrow and I'm looking for things to do, places to go, things to film/photograph and most importantly, places where I can find examples of happiness. I know that sounds strange but just work with me.

Any suggestions? I haven't been to ATL since I was about 11 or so.

Atlanta has some of the best strip clubs in the country. Or, so I've been told. ;)

get someone to take you to the "little 5 points area".. lots of happiness to be found there..

very funky. lots of neat shops and things to see..

also, the art museum is world class

completely off topic, but every time i see your avatar i'm reminded of one of the greatest nights i had in DC. minus the loss to the ratbirds that is.

Maybe the Olympic Park. I assume office workers eat lunch there or something. Then there's a highrise with the glass elevator on the OUTSIDE of the building. That's really cool. Then there's a hotspot called Underground Atlanta that I don't know even exists anymore. That was the place to go back years ago. And the strip clubs. Have a swell time.

Been to Atlanta a couple to see the Braves play but haven't really gone out in the city. There is the Olympic Park and that underground mall thingy, bout all I know of.

Tampa is about a 4-5 hour drive from ATL. If you can make it, I'd love to see you man.

The Braves are playing our very own Nats in Atlanta this weekend. I'm sure you can get tickets easily.

'Melo's been living in Europe, I don't think any strip clubs in the US would be very impressive to him at this point. ;)

From pretty direct experience, I can assure you they do.

As for Atlanta, I don't really know much about it, but I would check out that stuff about the strip clubs. Lots of happiness to go around in there.

If you want to come to Athens, which is only an hour away, there is ALL KINDS of great stuff here to do, photograph, film, experience, etc. It's the ultimate college town, but it's also so much more... There's a lot of great history here, Southern history, and it's everywhere you go in Athens.

Let me know if you want to come, and I'll try to show you around. Just don't come on a Saturday. :)

I've been to Atlanta twice and am considering making a trip there next month for the game, but I cant recommend anything cause it was so long ago when I went. Therefore, I will continue to lurk.

If you want to come to Athens, which is only an hour away, there is ALL KINDS of great stuff here to do, photograph, film, experience, etc. It's the ultimate college town, but it's also so much more... There's a lot of great history here, Southern history, and it's everywhere you go in Athens.

Let me know if you want to come, and I'll try to show you around. Just don't come on a Saturday. :)

LSU coming to town! Should be lots of Cagin food at the tailgates. If I wanted to film something happy, I'd take my camera to the RV area. The game is tomorrow. :)

I don't want to hijack the thread, but we'll be out filming, for sure. Probably going to take our new Men's Basketball Coach, Mark Fox, out to North Campus to shoot him hanging out with some tailgaters. Should be a lot fun.

i agree about how great a place athens is.. great food. lots of funky clubs..
but it does get VERY crowded on SEC weekends..

little five points is good. The fountain in centennial park is good too. Atlanta Underground is pretty neat.

Go to the Baseball game or go east to Athens for the Bulldogs game.

Of all places to visit, when returning to the states, why GA? Especially this time of year. Other than some nice, ripe peaches, I wouldn't even stop for anything in GA right now.

Guys, this has been beyond crazy. I came to ATL for a specific reason. Something amazing is going to happen soon. Something beyond amazing. For those of you all that remember me, I've said this before and this time, it is much, much bigger. My week in ATL has been beyond huge and soon, you'll find out why. I was super busy this week which is why I didn't have time to respond to this thread but I am very, very thankful for your replies. Gotta get some sleep right now, another busy day tomorrow before I fly out Saturday. I promise that I want to reply specifically to several things in this thread but I don't have the time right now but I will definitely do it soon. I love you guys.

Wish I could have mad it man. I couldn't even see my fam in DC before leaving the states because I ran out of vacation time.

First thing I ate when I got stateside was the greasiest burger I could find.

I just wanted to tell you all so you are not surprised when I'm still keeping secrets on Monday. Trust that I wish I could tell you every detail.

B&G, I definitely have made some luck for myself but I have definitely had some extreme luck thrown my way. My film skills were put to the test but I got very lucky during every test with great locations, great group members and great random people to work with at my locations. Some other groups really suffered because they weren't so lucky. I've been blessed so far. Hopefully it won't run out. One of you guys pray for me. I mean that.

I am just guessing here, but it seems to me the Turner networks are in the ATL as well as the Cartoon Network and CNN.

I think it centers around something like that.

I am anxious for the 21st (was the 19th) because I want to hear what this was all about.
