Lets pretend for a moment that the game at FedEx Field on Sunday will have some value for all who watch. We will skip the "bitch byte" posts for now!
The sports gurus have almost unanimously selected the Redskins to win!
One of the keys of the game for the Redskins success is the running game. Whoa... Clinton Portis is nursing what some are calling bone spurs in both ankles!!!
Updating a previous item, Clinton Portis (calf, ankles) did not practice on Friday and is listed as questionable for Week 4.

"Fifty-fifty," coach Jim Zorn said. "I..want to be smart in how we deal with him." Ladell Betts and Marcus Mason shared first-team reps throughout the week. Zorn added that Mason will definitely be active Sunday, indicating that the Skins aren't confident Portis will make it the whole game even if he starts. Portis would be hard to sit if he's active against the Bucs' 31st-ranked run defense, but we won't know his status until about 12ET Sunday.

That begs the question? Who will run for the Redskins ? And if the running game cannot pick it up can the passing game make a difference this week? And can the defense retard the Buccaneers QB in a better manner than they did last week against the Lions?

your thoughts. . . if any!?!?!

(I just wanted to see one post about the game! If no one posts a response.. I won't be disappointed...The members here haven't had the incentive to talk about "the game" in a long time! The ownership and management disaster has erased any incentive)

Which again begs the question as to why Ladell Betts is on this team. He has literally no value.

I just pray that Betts has limited or no activity at the RB position.........GET OUT OF BOUNDS!!!!

I don't see how, if he wasn't fired last week. We're stuck with him until the bye atleast, possibly the entire season. Losing the the Bucs isn't nearly as embarrassing as losing to the 0-19 or whatever Lions.

I wonder what happened to Betts... I was watching the 2005 game against the Buccaneers precisely, and Betts was great. Running tough spelling Portis, amazingly fast... He even returned a kickoff for a TD

To answer your question, if up to me I'd start Mason, if nothing more than to throw a monkey wrench at the Bucs D!

Think about it, we know that Betts bites, so do the Bucs, no surprise there.

Start the kid and see how he looks, just maybe a spark? A surprise for once? N/S what do we have to lose over Betts by starting the kid?:)

No one is saying Timmy flashbacks are around the corner but the kid has to be better than watching Ladell all game.

VET!
Your message in the quotes I find interesting, I'm kinda amazed at just what this site has become. I like that "BITCH BYTES" that you came up with!

It's funny, I once thought this site was overall too goody-goody and brightside outlooks were too rampant for my taste. I recall years ago bringing up that this site should be in two different divisions! Yes one for the ever Optimistic, the other for the Bitch&Moan club!

But I think Hail2Skins knocked that idea down! LMAOF!

I think the greater fanbase is just about burnt out with this team, and you obviously see the change in overall tone on this site, and if you have been around this board as long as some of us, you can see the change in certain members, and I don't mean just one or two!

Guys please don't take me up wrong! It's more of a shot at myself, I'm a bitcher that's too burnt out with this team to even bitch about them hardly anymore! What's that telling you?

it comes down who can pass protect the best. Sure the RB can get some yards and move the chains, but there will be throws down the field.

Watch Zorn try a 1st down throw only to get his QB killed by that terrible OL and a RB who cant pass protect that fast or that many guys.

2nd and long or 3nd and long here we come.

If the running game gets shut down early, will Zorn stick with it or just try to pass the ball around to open up the running lanes?

I sign a contract extension, and went down ever since.

Betts is awful. I think it's time to cut him, immediately.

Alridge should see carries this week. He's explosive and fast, something none of the other backs on this team are.

I'd like to see JC with some play action pass runs myself.

i think this team is morphing into a pass first/run second offense.. in that sense, it wont matter so much who is in at RB-- only how well the O line and Campbell perform

also, it wont matter how well the defense performs tomorrow, but rather
how well the offense performs.. if we can score some points, we should win.. if we struggle again, we will suffer another embarrassing loss
