Washington Post reports:
The Washington Redskins have begun preliminary negotiations with tight end Byron Chamberlain after the former Pro Bowl tight end had a solid workout at Redskins Park yesterday, according to a source. Chamberlain, 31, was released by the Minnesota Vikings on Monday.

in the tims today it stated that the skins will wait till next week to decide on him. they want one more game to evaluate what we got..

Flemister has a healthy contract, one that I'm surprised that was given to him in the first place. I wonder what the cap implications would be if we were to let him go.

Chamberlain is a temporary solution. He can't contribute 4 years down the road. Which is where we need to be looking. Because the Redskins window of opportunity is only just beginning to squeak open.
And I wouldn't want a temporary solution taking away any playing time for Royal either. One way or the other - we need to find out if Royal is a keeper. Or if we need to shop around in the off-season. Play Royal, find out what he's got.
