Its mandatory that I do this after a win, even when we play the way we do. As I said last time, a win is a win.....so who was the most valuable player in today's edging of the Buccaneers?

*C. Cooley: 5 Recs. | 65 Yards | 1 TD*HR POTW, WEEK 4*

*R. Doughty: 9 Tackles (8 Solo)

*L. Fletcher: 9 Tackles (5 Solo) | 1 Sack

*C. Portis: 25 Carries | 98 Yards

*Other: Please specify player.

Cooley...he was the passing game and without him we wouldnt have kept the chains moving imo. The bomb to Moss was nice but Cooley is more consistent and more clutch.

This is one good thing that I will give Blache credit for. He played more Cobra and left Orakpo around the LOS and out of pass coverage for the most part. The result was Orakpo's best game. He still has his problems though. Orakpo was totally hit or miss today. He was either making a play or totally lost. And I'm starting to wonder if he will ever disengage a block.

Andre Carter, on the other hand, might as well just run to the opposing end zone at the start of every snap. That's where he seems to end up after every play anyway.

Without a doubt, Chris Cooley ! He stayed with his QB; encouraged his QB and made the plays when Jason Campbell connected with him. Without Captain Chaos clutch catches, there would be no win, I am sure. He breathed life back into a dying offense. Everything that followed came from his spark of life!

Cooley. Solid day for him all around. He's our go-to-guy on offense.

Cooley is on point but Reed is playing off the charts.....

It pains me to pick an offensive player, but Cooley kept us in the game in the third quarter. He was the only player on offense who was ready and willing to make a comeback. It is very rare to see a TE lead a team, but you could see the determination he had to get things turned around.

I'll pick two guys: Doughty on defense and Coooley on offense. I wished everyone played with the heart these guys played with today. Campbell is my runner up on offense, he didn't give up. Hail!

Nugent.

no cool. This is a mediocre football team, and we all "get it", but to submarine one of the few oppotunities we have to recognize the players who contributed to a win is wrong. The fact of the matter is that if it was 16-0 at the half, we still woul have come back.

In all seriousness, I should have voted for Cooley, but I refuse to after he insulted the fans after the Giants loss.
I could have given it to Moss or Orakpo, because they played a pretty good game, but honestly the most decisive factor IMO was the home field advantage, since there is not a doubt in my mind that if we had played on the road we would have lost the game.
So since home field is not a player, and since I really don't feel like praising any of the players on this pathetic team (keep in mind we are 2-2 only because we have played 3 out of 4 games against teams that are a combined 0-9 in games not played against us), I chose Nugent. But it wasn't a really serious vote, more a vote resulting from frustration.

From sitting in the stands, I can PROMISE you that homefield definitely played no roll yesterday. There were TONS of empty seats and more noise directed to the Skins (boos) that the Bucs offense.

Pretty much the same here. [Cooley]

But in reality, if Nugent did make those two FGs, we would lost the game. So you are partially correct in saying Nugent was our MVP.

Fletcher the tackling machine.

Suisham. Did everything he was called upon to do yesterday. Punting and booting kickoffs into the back of the endzone. I think this is twice I have voted for him, sad really.

It's not a matter of fans directly impacting the game. IMO the losers that populate our roster and our coaching staff mentally go into away games with a different mentality (as pointed out by Cooley's statements after the Giants game). Basically they know that a loss on the road will be viewed by many as a disappointment, but not as a complete disaster (which in some cases, like Detroit, it should), but a loss at home would obviously earn them a shower of boos and REAL criticism, which the players generally will gladly live without.
In essence this group of players/coaches has inherited this mentality from our front office: mediocrity is pretty much fine because you will always find some fan who thinks that at 8-8 you are one player or one play from making a run at the Super Bowl, so you can gladly get by with beating the putrid teams at home, and then go home and have fun with the millions in your bank account.

I'll say Cooley. He made some key catchees where others would have dropped those passes.

Nugent.

+1, but for a Redskin, Tryon. The nominees had bad as well as good (for instance Cooley run blocking, Doughty pass pro) and are vets from whom more should be expected than was gotten during the game (CP medical issues aside). Tryon actually looked like he might develop, but this is but 1 game against an inferior opponent with a QB in his first game. So this observation is made with scepticism.

How many people simply didn't come back after halftime? If I watched them give up 4 turnovers in the first half, I probably would have been halfway home before the 4th quarter started...
