I was thinking about it but I just started tethering with my Storm for $15. PC World says it will cost $30 on the Droid, which makes no sense.
Keep me posted on the professional features. I love the BB scheduler and syncing.

Keep me posted on the professional features. I love the BB scheduler and syncing.I tried the tethering but it was too iffy at some locations. I went with a broadband stick that works great.

I took the train to NYC last weekend and it was great. I don't know how much I will use it but I still like knowing I have it.

Wife and I are huge Verizon fans for everything including FiOs, internet and phone...so I'm interested in seeing this thing in action. I've put off buying an iPhone w/ the AT&T committment for the hopes of a competing product I can use with Verizon. this may be my chance...
Mike - Please let me know how it turns out...

It uses gmail for syncing which is different for me but I'll get used to it. It has something that allows business syncing but I won't use that. It's very fast while accessing the internet and using the interface.
Tomorrow, I browser the app market and see what they have out there.

So far I am really loving this phone. Once I sync my Outlook calendar with Gmail, the phone syncs with gmail over the air. Google has some software that you can install on your PC that allows scheduled syncing with gmail. I have read that one of the developers is working on an app that will allow the phone to sync directly with Outlook; I can't wait for that.
There are a lot of cool apps out there for free. My favorite so far is SportsTap. I believe they have it for the iPhone too. This app keeps you informed about all sports and will even keep you updated on your favorite teams with alerts. I used it last Sunday to keep track of the Skins score. It even has game simulation much like ESPN has.
There are several apps which allow you to customize the look of the interface on the phone. So far I've tried two of them. The first, dxtop, wasn't ready for Android 2.0 yet even though it partly worked. I found one called Open Home which so far is great. It cost $3.99 but I find it worth it.
I'll be playing with email later on. As for syncing, you can sync with a MS Exchange server if your business uses one. You can also setup IMAP and POP3 email accounts as well.
I'll probably play with the wifi later tonight.
The bluetooth seems to work well with my car. I had a couple of issues where the phone would reset but my radio doesn't like having multiple profiles (headset, handsfree) going at the same time. It was the same with my Winmobile phone. I found a way to enable/disable the bluetooth profiles and when I disabled the media (headset) profile, the handsfree works great.
The battery on this thing is pretty cool too expecially considering when I'm in the office, I basically get no signal. This normally drains the battery fast but I'll have around 80% battery power after 8 hours of work. I'm a bit surprised by this since it constantly using the data stream and the gps is always on.
I haven't played with navigation yet although it's there and free.
I did find a golf app for gps which is damn cool. Gives you distances and actually shows you a bird's eye view of the hole you're playing. You can also keep you score with it.
That's it for now. If you have specific questions, post them and I'll what I can find out.

The free turn by turn directions with goggle maps is a plus and how it goes directly to car mode when docked in the mount is sweet. it will search along your driving route if you want as well

There's an app on it called bump. You bump phones with another person and it saves their info in contacts. Another called google goggles where you take a pic of something it then analyzes it and takes you to its webpage. docs to go allows you to construct word docs, excel, p point, etc
advanced task killer is a must, shuts down running apps, saves mem and battery
nba league pass mobile is awesome
get the barcode scanner when you get the device and you can get apps on your device while surfing the net on your computer (androlib)
Find an app you like, scan the barcode on computer screen and it finds it and asks you if you want it to install.
no reboot either. That goes for installing or deleting apps.
Also if you pay for an app there is a 24 hour return policy. don't like it don't pay for it.

Got Jo one for xmas ........... any advise to her?Dang Patrick, can't believe I'm just seeing this. Yeah, I still love the phone especially the Google Navigation. She can use the Market to find nice free apps. As I mentioned earlier, the email program isn't all that good for business but it works.
The only thing I don't like is that most pouches have a magnet in them to keep it close. This puts the phone in Car mode while in your pouch. The magnet activates it.
Other than that, I'm very happy with it.
