This is the official thread for Eagles fans to gloat. Hopefully it won't see too much use. I don't want a proliferation of the gloating threads so any such posts outside this thread will be merged here.

Thank you.

I was gald Philly pulled out the upset. I honestly didn't think Philly was going to win because the defense was so banged up. Looking forward to the rematch later in the year.

Neither team is getting Wednesday off. Looks like we're in the NFC least again cause both team didn't impress, the Giants should be under 500 and the Cowboys are in sole position of first place.

According to the prognosticators, this wasn't an upset. 5pt favorites going into the game.

Pretty sad Spence. An official thread to gloat! I was at the game (sitting next to 2 skins fans!) but Skinzaholic was not 3 rows behind me. I came away less than impressed with our offensive prowess, but our defense did a spectacular job and won the game, even though the Skins almost sent it into OT. McNabb had an adequate game, but was still inaccurate on a number of throws. He must play better for us to win some of the tougher games we still face. The O Line did a good job and Westbrook showed the breakaway ability he possesses.

Our defense had a great game. Simon Thomas and especially Walker got consistant pressure up the middle. Our back up cornerbacks and safetys played well, but they had the backups to the backups in there (Mikell and Brutley, who was just signed this week) and they got burnt.

Reid called a great game in that he mixed up the run and pass (31 passes and 30 runs). That allowed us to win the time of possession battle and keep your D guessing as to what was coming.

Reading some of your posts you thought your team played poorly, particuarly the offense. Realize that they were playing the best defense they have faced all year, and they did a decent job. You need a better O Line to become a power in the division. Ramsey showed a lot of promise and guts in standing in the pocket while getting pounded play after play.

I mentioned iin your thread of predictions for this months games that the skins are a better team than I thought. Seeing them in person they are a better team than last year. Don't let our 2-2 record make you think that this is a bad Eagles team. We have gone to the NFCC the last two years and we are not going to fall apart that quickly. While we are not playing at that level this year (yet), we have improved dramatically from our first two games and will continue to do so.

Now I don't think the above constitues gloating or certainly it has been tempered. What I would like is for some congratulations to the victorius Eagle fans. Let's see how gracious you guys are in defeat.

I agree with alot of what you said in reference to your team. Ramsey had a bad day today. You took advantage of a rookie playing on the oline like you should have. I think if Fiore had been playing, Ramsey would have had a little more protection in the middle of the line. We made some bonehead penalties again as well and you scored with the sustained drive when you should have been punting the ball. That's lack of discinpline on our part.

Spurrier got pass happy and should have stuck with the run more. I guess he felt he could we could take advantage of the DB's you had in there but Ramsey didn't get the time he needed. 50 passes to 2? runs is not the type of balanced attack we've seen in previous games.

You won this one so enjoy it but we'll meet again later in the year. I'm sure this game was closer that some Eagle's fans thought it would be.

Thanks Hail. You did take advantage when we put in Mickell and Brutley, but Hart and Brown have played great. Shepard still plays too loose and guys are catching the ball against him, but he is a great tackler so they don't get far.

We play again the last game of the season. Hopefully it won't mean much to us by then :D:

Don't take Dallas too lightly. You'll be in there house and they have a good secondary as well. Quincy is mobile unlike Ramsey. Our schedule loosens up at the end and that should benefit us. Don't be surprised if that game does mean something. :D

I don't worry about Dallas too much. Their one winn against a quality team was a choke by the Giants who have huge problems with their O Line and their D Backs. Maybe I am wrong, but I don't see Dallas as that improved. They are certainly better than last year and better coached so you won't see as many dumb decisions as last year, but the Birds don't let up against weaker teams and I expect a solid win.

5 or 6 wins rskinsfan10? :twak:

I was? Where were you? Should have said "hey" to me.

I couldnt have missed you... what color were you wearing? LOL

Seriously... you guys played better then us in the end I think. Your offense did the job when they needed to in the 4th qtr... and deserved the win. I think next year we will finally come in a win in Philly.

I was in Section 138. You must have been in 102 as there were no skins fans in row 7 near me.

It was an exciting game and I felt pretty confident most of the time, but there were some hairy moments at the end. Thanks for the props, and hopefully you will be at the game next year (You may be our good luck charm!)

I didn't see the line for that game, kinda strange to me considering the injuries and such:confused:

This division does look like the NFC Least again. No team in the division looks good so far.:smash:

It is sad but Dallas has trhe boys playing the best right now in the division and Carter is making some plays. WOW did I just say that....

I was actually in Sec 137... must have been to your right. About the 20 yard line... row 7... seat 16.

I think next year may be our year to end this injustice once and for all.

The line was no suprise to me -- the avg age of the Skins is 25.5 and SS is a 2nd yr HC. The D Cord is in his 1st year.

This is a VERY young team with a VERY young coaching staff -- Philly has much more experience in players and coaches (coaches can make the diff in scheming with inexperienced players)

Philly has been to back to back NFC Championship games. Skins haven't been since 91, 87(But they did get to the SB:p )

Odds makers and alike know that until a young team steps up and starts winning big games they are not going to favor them.

The Skins have a chance to make some noise this year and will only get better. I love that fact that they will battle till the end -- if the Bucs (or anyone else) take us lightly they will lose. That couldn't be said for the past few years....

Average Age is 25.5 Man once Bruce Smith retires that should go down to 19. That is amazing.

Although the average age of our starting Defensive backfield yesterday was 23.75 but Michael Lewis and the no-names (good name for a rock group) really came through.

I like that Michael Lewis and the no-names line. Sheppard and Brown aren't bad but there is a huge dropoff after that. We pretty much had a street free agent playing as a nickle back and free safety:D

That's why I was very impressed with the D -- I give the credit to JJ -- his experiance and schemes made the difference. The oldest starting WR/RB/QB on the Skins is Coles (26) and Canidate (26) Ramsey is 24

SS hated the no huddle offence (because he's a control frek and want to call ALL the plays) but when they had to do it it really caught the Eagles off guard -- the could not look to JJ on what to do.

SS vs JJ -- play by play -- JJ and his expierence win every time.

Hood had primary coverage on Coles and while he got 6 catches, he didn't kill us so he was fine. Hart played well, although he was burnt on the last TD. When they put Mykell and Bruyton out there in the 4th, they were picked on and they couldn't do anything, so there is only so far you can go.

I'll bet Taylor and Vincent are real concerned about getting a contract offer now, although I really hope they will be back next year.

JJ did have a great game plan, which was to blitz on certain down and distance plays, but you still need the players to execute. I just finished watching the game and our D Line played great, especially the Tackles. All three had a great game. The blitzes were effective and Ramsey was off in the first half. If McNabb was on his game, it would not have been as close. Unfortunately he is having some problems. I don't know if it was his thumb or the bruised fibula, but unless he improves on his performance we will not win 10 games this year.

So where are the rest of the Skins fans! I'd like to see a few more congratualory messages before the thread is banished to oblivion

Something was seriously wrong with Ramsey yesterday and that was the early pressure. After that there were a few hits here and there bit it was the first few that really got him. I guess rattling a QB is the best way to protect a patchwork secondary.

Actually McNabb played like well McNabb. The Skins did have a decent game plan against him...keep in the pocket and use Arrington to "spy" -- it worked -- McNabb is as average QB in the pocket. If I were Reid when Teams do this I would get McNabb out of the pocket with designed plays, that's when he's dangerous.

ps - they better keep Vincient and Taylor -- this was a Chess match between JJ and SS and the more experienced coach won against a very young inexperience (but talented) offence

In both our losses, we looked like the better team. We just keep beating ourselves with bonehead penalties.

Better talent wise? I would agree.

But the "Better TEAM"? I would disagree -- part of being the better team is not making stupid mistakes, penalties and bonehead personal fouls

I would disagree with both better team and better talent. If McNabb has an average game, we would have won easily. Also with our entire defensive backfield out, it was like the second half of an exhibition game. If you couldn't complete some passes it would have been a shock. Bottom line: the better team won. Stop the sour grapes and move on.
