We are now 2-0 in the NFC East. That is not good!:(

0-2. We are the door mat. The cowboy's look pretty good. Pathetic.

0-2. Yeah, just more of the same. It puts so much pressure on the team to win every non-division game. This was our best chance to beat the Eagles, too. We really blew a great chance here. Now, we've got to sweep the Cowboy and they are 3-1.

We need to think about stopping Ramsey from audibling us out of the NFL.

At least we can take a little solace in the fact that 3-1 barely counts when one of those wins is against the Cardinals.

sorry. I was hoping for 2-0!
Man, Dallas at the top, 3-1. ARRRGGGGGG!

It's a sad day for the B&G when you audible your way out of 1st place and watch the cowboy's play solid football to claim it. I can't take any solace in the fact that they did it against the cards. They whooped them and didn't just let them hang in there. I don't have the same confidence our team could do the same.

PSF they have to limit his audibles. When they run the plays Spurrier calls they're much better off. They can let him audible more next year.

I absolutely agree, but SS won't. That is his offense the core foundation of it.
What we have to do is come up with a way to meet the blitz, someone to pick it up. This is getting nuts. It is obvious for any defense that there is one way top beat the Redskins, Blitz like hell.

Then Ramsey needs to limit himself, he should realize he is being outclassed.
As far as the blitz...
Unfortunately, audibles are part of Spurrier's offensive scheme. When Ramsey doesn't audible Spurrier starts throwing his visor. Remember this is what Ramsey was studying the entire off season. The Eagles showed everyone how to beat the skins. Did you see how many times we didn't have enough people to block the oncoming rush? They blitzed successfully even with their second string backfield covering our fleet wide receivers. Now we will see if Spurrier can coach in the NFL. Like the writers said last year, Vanderbilt is not on the schedule.

Yup, we shall see. Spurrier has the opportunity here to make adjustments, and right the ship. Can he do it? We'll see, but i can give him a hint that may help, there first names start with T, L, C, and R

I'm thinking Gardener gets demoted to 3rd WR to get his act together. That guy is irking me right now.

Well, I think Spurrier should have adjusted more in the game. He didn't do anything to stop them from blitzing. Throw that WR screen more if it's working. Why in the hell is Morton in there on blitzes, he needs to get B Johnson and Cartwright in there. Keep both of them in and limit the number of routes being run.

I'm with you. He'd be an A at #3. At #2 he is a C (at best). For a size-guy he is just not very physical. McCants has the better hands.

We were 3-1 against teams that were a combined 4-11. I'm not sure it's something to bring up.

It isn't Ramsey that's being "outclassed", it is the O-Line. Ramsey was getting the life beat out of him back there and he kept getting up and coming back for more. All of this griping about the 2nd year QB is unfounded and undeserved. Direct it where it belongs at the O-Line.

I haven't even begun to read all the threads...but the common points seem to be:
Too little protection - whcih starts the Blitz.
Too much "Blitz" - which causes audibles
Too many "audible" calls - which is causing some penalties.
Too many penalties - which cost us yards and scoring oppurtunity
This viscious thread of events is very apparent to most of the knowledgeable posters here on Hr!. Why the hell hasn't the Coaching staff figured it out. Are we that much more intelligent?
Yes, I'M PISSED! The "igles" did not win that game, the Redskins, we, gave them the game!
Sorry for screaming.

I'm not ready to demote Gardner. Coles, McCants, and Morton had terrible drops during the game. I am impressed w/ McCants this season, but he will always have the lesser db covering him. Doesn't necessarily mean he'd outperform Rod at the #2 spot.

That about sums it up Nam. Why can't they see it. I say we develop a plan and send it to them

Spurrier's play calling yesterday sucked. No ifs ands or buts about it. He must do better next week. lets give a dose of Trung,, Betts, Rock, and Johnson, run the ball from the onset. We need to keep a RB in there to block,a nd by a RB, i do not mean Morton. Rock and BJ have to be back there to pick it up, period.
I agree totally with an earlier statement. I think we have good Wrs in Coles, Gardner, and McCants. Lets get soem extra blocking help. I rest int he fact that our Wrs will get open.

Yeah, I'll buy into that. Unless Jacobs comes along quickly, we can't afford to demote anyone. I think the #2 of the future may not be on the roster yet (unless it's Jacobs). McCants may have better hands than Gardner & while I wouldn't mind giving him a shot at #2, I don't think it would be a long term answer.

Did the o-line audible us into disaster? Did the O-line make Ramsey call audibles? Did the O=line tell Ramsey to hold on to the ball no matter what even if LB's and DB's are stacking the line and blitzing? Did the O-line make him overthrow Coles?
The point is everybody shares some responsibility even Ramsey.
Ramsey was 'outclassed' by the philly defense. They beat him up and rattled his cage to the point where he was audibling to sweeps directed toward the short side of the field and runs right at the heart of the defense.
What other word would you use to describe a 2nd year QB going against Jimmy Johnsons defensive scheme?
PS I do like Ramsey. It's criticism Geez.

Audibles are a key component of The Visor's offense. Without them the offense doesn't work. But The Visor needs to get the play into the QB faster so they can get to the line faster.
The pre-snap motion penalties are the O-line's responsibility. Protecting the QB is the O-line's responsibility and sometimes they need help from a back staying in.
I'm not saying Ramsey played a perfect game, but given his lack of experience, I'd say he had a decent showing against a tough defense. Fix these problems (and if the recievers catch balls that hit them in the hands) and all of a sudden instead of saying Ramsey was "outclassed", everybody is talking about what a superstar Ramsey is.

Looking at this game in August, I thought for sure it was one of the few times I'd be pulling for the Cowboys, since I'd want them to put a dent in Philly's playoff hopes. But with Dallas fans acting all high and mighty because they're on top of the division for one week after we've been there three times, I want the Big D to get punched in the mouth so hard that they won't be able to tell the difference between the stars on their helmets and the ones circling around their heads.

Carter: "There are holograms on are helmets now?"
Hambrick: "Quincy, just because you have three heads doesn't mean you can tell me what play we should run."

The more Ramsey audibles now the more he learns and the quicker we get to win. Remember folks, this will be his 11th start. He's still a roookie, a pretty darn good one too!!
