Sorry for shouting but how many dropped balls were there? Coles dropped 2 or 3 Chad morton dropped a pass that would've led to a sure first down and maybe more. Rod added his usual 3 drop game. Royal dropped 1 and McCants dropped another before his TD catch. What's going on here? I thought for sure the one thing we wouldn't have to worry about would be the "dropsies". Well, I'm not panicing yet but Rod needs to pull it together if he's going to be a solid #2. I know coles' drops were annomalies. Morton, maybe was screened by the ref. should we be worried about this?:(

Coles is probably on himself about it Morton too. McCants gets sloppy. No excuses though they share a lot of the blame yesterday too. The team just has to get on the same page.

Rod is consistent w/ this category. Pathetic.

Yeah that is what we discussed. This team is literally BEATING itself. They are very good at beating themselves. Many of Ram's passes though were clearly off.

Patrick was getting hammered. I can't expect a 2nd year QB to do better. The protection has not been there even in the wins.

The WRs & drops were the worst I'd ever seen last year. Coles is a keeper, this was among his worst games. But we clearly don't have a top notch #2. Cliff Russell? Patrick Johnson? McCants & Gardner are spotty? (lets face it, in the playoffs these guys are going to be non-factors at #2) Both would be fine as #3, but I think #2 is a stretch. Jacobs & Royal are the unknowns. It will be interesting to see how Jacobs does now that he is back. And Royal hasn't shown a thing but it's still early.

We may want to draft WR in the 2nd round. And TE in the 4-6. Or FAs?

Coem on guys. Don't get down on Gardner yet. he had a bad game, but he will recover as will we.

Sorry Mark, but it's hard for me personally not to get down on him. It's been all the same from him IMO since he was drafted. I know he has his supporters, but I just can't find myself to be one of them. Not only is he dropping passes that consistently hit him in the hands, but he seemingly gets a holding or blocking in the back penalty every game, and when you look at the replay it seems that his infractions don't lead to extra yardage by the ball carrier. This is his 3rd year, and I don't see any improvement personally.

I agree rskinfan, this is gardners 3rd year. he was a #1 draft pick. he's starting to smell like a certain Mike Westbrook to me. I hope he cleans up his act. I'd love to see him excel.

I am starting to think that "Run D.M.C." is better fit for the #2 reciever.

D.Howard- never had it.
M.Westbrook - had it, but completely hot & cold.
R.Gardner - consistant but mediocre.

At #15 overall, Marty was looking for Westbrook's replacement. Otherwise he probably should have gone with a CB (I was big on Will Allen). WRs are so volitile as a high pick, better value at other positions. But I think we broke the "better athlete" over "need athlete" rule. Not like Marty proved himself as a GM either.

I liked the Gardner pick, but he has to stop this pass-dropping business.
