I guess the redskins are denying the report, and say Vinny is GONE

I feel this deserved its own thread and discussion. Please merge if not

I for one feel this is actually a good move. I think Vinny is useful in scouting, and actually does a good job of it. His last couple of draftees are starting to show big upside.

He will also be there for Snyder to cry on, so Snyder leaves Allen alone!

Or, it could mean that Snyder is keeping his "security blanket", and will make Cerrato his whipping boy again once he realizes that he hates giving authority to Allen and the next head coach. I don't like this at all. Vinny Cerrato needs to go away in order for this organization to take the first step of change. I had my hopes up, and this news dwindles them quite a bit.

I think this "consultant" role might be of the Fight Club, off-premesis variety. You know, the kind where Vinny gets paid in exchange for keeping his mouth shut, not writing a book, etc.

At least I hope so.

I think it really doesn't mean squat. Give him the job of scouting DII and III schools.

The one problem bigger than vinnie is danny. He lasted a year with Marty before getting his (censored) back. While we hope that this is permanent, we know they are "friends" and that at least they will be talking. We can only hope that this doesn't mean that danny is listening, which he won't if we are winning.

This is probably an attempt to keep Cerrato quiet in terms of the inner workings of the Redskins. If he goes to ESPN he can talk. Keeping him on the payroll prevents him from talking.

i would tend to agree.. or, he has always enjoyed being a long distance scout ?
i could see him taking on a job like that..

haha you can always count on florio stirring the pot. Hopefully, he is wrong and vinny really is out. no need for that tool anymore.
