Got this idea from another MB.
Have you ever reconnected with someone, or ran into someone who shares some type of a past with you? I've got two stories to tell. And I'd enjoy it if anyone else has a story they would like to share, please do.
First story: United States Coast Guard Yard, Baltimore Md. The year was '95. By this time I had been stationed there for over 2 years. This guy that I knew was stationed there as a Gate Security person. After two years of chatting and BSing, he finally asks me what part of North Carolina am I from. He knew I lived in NC due to my license plate. I tell him Winston Salem since no one knows where "King" is. He tells me that he's from a small town named Germanton. I ask him what high school did he graduate from. He stated South Stokes. My old high school. Come to find out he graduated in '92 and his wife graduated from the same school in '90. Asked what her name was and come to find out, I had a couple of classes with his wife in high school. She and I shared ALOT of friends from high school but lost touch.
Next story: Charlotte, NC. Year '97
I was discharged from the Coast Guard in '96 and immediately got married and relocated to Monroe, NC. I was working for a photocopy/fax repair shop. My job was to setup/deliver copiers and fax machines through out the Charlotte area. The first week of '97 they hire a new salesman. Pretty cool guy. Before long, he takes me and this other guy out to Hooters for lunch. We're talking and he gets a phone call from a girl he knew from high school. They hang up and I ask him where he went to high school. He tells me and I know that high school. I ask him if he knows a girl by the name of Tonia Gallemore. He gives me this look that says "you've gotta be kidding me"? That's who he just got off the phone with. I tell him we used to have a crush on each other 10 years earlier. I didn't think she would remember me. So I had him call her back and low and behold, she does. A couple of weeks later we all meet up and go to lunch. She was living Charlotte at the time. The weird thing is that she and the salesman [John] are from a small town Va. Over 200 miles from Charlotte.
Tonia and I are now friends on Facebook. :)
We had lost touch again after that lunch but I was able to find her around 4 months ago.
