View Full Version : Ticked off at the NFL

I just read that the NFL moved the Skins-Bills game to a 4:15 kick off!
I'm ticked for 2 reasons:
1. Skins seem to always lose 4 o'clock game (both loses this year) Not that I'm superstisous or anything;)
2. It really screws up my Sunday -- Sunday is family day at our house and a 1 o'clock fits perfectly into the schedule:
10:30 Church
1:00 Football
5:00 Sunday Dinner
7:00 "Small Group" Bible Study/Fellowship
I always miss the 4th quarter and even though I have a DVR, it still sucks because I didn't get to see it live, my mind keeps wonder at small group and then I get home and have to watch it knowing we lost.

Sorry about that -- it felt good to vent a little

They probably moved it for Television reasons. Maybe they think that game is a better one or something.

Yeah...that REALLY pisses me off. I hate 4:00 Skins games. I'm usually too nervous about the skins to enjoy the other 1:00 games.

I like the earlier games as well. I wake up to the sound of crowd noise(if not for football, I would get up at two Sunday mornings:D)

That stinks! I much prefer the 1 PM start to the 4 PM start. And I hate Sunday and Monday night home games. That's the only good thing about the Skins having a bad year last year: no Monday night home games this season.

I prefer the earlier (noon - Central time) start too. I set the UltimateTV up in the morning before heading off to take care of my Sunday morning obligations. By the time I get home the game is probably late in the 1st Q or early in the 2nd. I start the UltimateTV from the begining while it keeps recording. I FFwd through the commercials and usually catch up to live action at Half-time. It really works out well for me.
The later game (3 Central Time) doesn't end until after dinner is on the table, and that is a frequent cause of domestic discord.

Actually... I prefer the 4pm games simply due to my geographical limitations. Since I live 1.5 hrs from the stink hole of Philly... I usually only get to see the Skins on TV when they play a different time then the puke Eagles... so 4pm usually works well.
(Sorry guys).

I get to see the Skins 2 weeks in a row and maybe maybe 3 because they moved the game! First time since I've moved to L.A so I'm not complaining.

I can relate to that -- when i moved to Orlando in 1993 I only got to see the Skins on TV when they played the Bucs or diff times than 1pm (nat games)
But since 96 I've had DTV and don't even think about that anymore

Try living near the stadium, not having tickets to the game and trying to get home through the game traffic.......safe to say I hate Monday night games too!!

HEY, What the HELL am I hearing here. Church? Dinner? Family Time ? Domestic Discord ? ............. You are all serious SKINS Fan RIGHT?? Sundays (Mondays and Saturdays) are YOUR day and plans are made around YOU being able to watch football. ALL the rest is secondary. The only thing a 4:00 game means is that we now have MORE time to get ready of the game.
LOL - And REALLY LMAO - Of course all the above don't mean nothing unless you really have an understanding wife who too loves football......... LOL - Yes when it comes to watching football, not only am I in a dream world - I live it. Sorry guys - LOL.
Now give me a beer!

I am also one of the lucky ones with a wife who understands her husbands obsession with the Redskins and football in general.
What really helps, is my wife enjoys sitcoms involving men who love football....like King of Queens or According to Jim. So she can relate....

I don't mind the 4:00 games when they are away. The home games that late tend to make me temper my drinking with thoughts of having to get up on Monday mornings for work.:D
Lol. I wish that I could complain that I got to see all the games you guys do. I only see maybe 8 games the entire year. Its not that I'm busy no Sundays, I just don't have directv. I have to go to nfl.com and watch the little screen all day. That just pisses me off.

Odyn - Come to my house. I live in Easton, PA. I see all the games. No weapons and no drugs, other than that try to take a shower before you come.

See what happens when you become good again? The good teams always get more 4PM games than the bad ones, I hate 4PM home games but I like the road games, the league expected us to be better than we are so we still have a bunch of 4Pm games left(along w/ another 9PM and 8:30PM). If things hold up I don't think I'll have to worry about to many 9, 8:30 or 4 Pm games next year:mad:

Hey I'm Happy having the game at 3:15PM means the game won't be on the same time has Dallas or Houston and I might actually get to watch the game. The other games FOX had rights to may not have been has attractive Chicago at Seattle &
Tampa Bay at San Francisco.
