Art Monk, nominated once again ! (http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=1633296)
There is absolutely no reason why Art Monk should not be inducted into the HOF!
Pay attention HOF voters!
Get it done !
(And wouldn't it be great if he went in with:
Offensive lineman: Rich Saul
Guard: Russ Grimm
Tackle: Joe Jacoby
What a great class that would be !!! )

That would be great, but they are too PC to take in that many Redskins in one class. People would cry foul regardless of whether or not the class was deserving.

I've went through my Monk spiel too many times. My blood boils when I even hear a reference to the HOF. Anyway, I know a couple of years ago that Gary Clark was on this first list of HOF hopefuls. Why in the world has he been bounced from any consideration at all? Has ~t 700 catches, two rings, and was our go-to guy (if you could single out one) during his time in DC. Clutch player that performed well in both SB XXII & XXVI. He's certainly superior to Cliff Branch and some of the other WR's on that list. Of course, I hate any 'negation' effect argument as to why Monk isn't in and Clark gets little credit. Bogus. We apparently have to whine longer and harder than the Squeeler backers that shoved Swann and Stallworth through those hallowed doors in Canton. Unfortunately, Swann microphone along with his colleague's in the media spoke much louder than Monk's stats and silent honor. I'm not getting my hopes up this year as I did last.

Yeah there are too many ex-Steelers on this list for us to get our hopes up. Plus, they always put one of the loosers from those Bills teams there out of pitty.

So, you are saying that they will put in a player from a loser over a player from a winner?
Art's stats speak for themselfs. If those idits who vote for the HOF (Wilbon) are going to pass Art by AGAIN next year, the HOF will lose what crediblaty they have left in my eyes.
I have been to the HOF in Canton, OH. Until Monk gets in, I will NEVER go back.

Yeah...why is Wilbon so against voting for Monk?

I think it is because Monk did not care to talk to those guys.

Grimm should've been in a long time ago.

Grimm is the most obvious one of all. He was named to the 1980s All-Decade Team. How can he not be in the Hall of Fame?
Darrell Green
Russ Grimm
Art Monk
I think those are the three most obvious Redskins omissions from the Hall of Fame. I think you could also make a decent case for:
Gary Clark
Joe Theisman
Joe Jacoby

If it were a lame azz receiver from Chicago, Wilbon would vote them in.

I doubt he gets in but I have given up any hope in a fair process

I never read or heard Wilbon say that he doesn't feel that Monk is worthy of the HOF. Where ar you guys getting this tidbit from?

Not sure Wilbon has ever stated his stand on Art Monk in the HOF. In my eyes he belongs. His numbers - well at the the end of his career they were up there.
I don't know - there is something that the voting members feel hold him back.

On others that haven't made it - IMO the entire orginal group that made up the O-line as the "HOGS" deserves to be in the HOF. There has NEVER been a MORE famous O-Line in the history of the NFL.

Elway and Barry Sanders are on the list so there's 2 spots filled and they always fill a spot w/ something stupid like an executive. Oh and Jimmy Johnson's in there too, you know based on his TV exposure he's going in. I don't see it this year either. Pathetic.
There's alot of very good players on that list that aren't skins but hopefully art will make it in anyways.
