Interesting. I din't know about this Sapp habit as far as the pre-game. It must be something that is causing waves across the NFL to get LaVar to initiate that response to it.

I'm sorry but Sapp can't touch LaVar. Sapp will get crushed!!
Message to LaVar: I hope you give him your best, but please wait till game time or maybe after we beat them on the field. We need you in the game.

ASHBURN, Va. (AP) -- Washington Redskins linebacker LaVar Arrington looked directly into the TV camera and delivered a sharp message to Warren Sapp.
``Sapp,'' Arrington said. ``I'm going to get you.''
Much like the contrived trash talk engendered by broadcast reporters before events the Super Bowl, the Redskins linebacker challenged the Pro Bowl defensive tackle on two fronts Wednesday as the Redskins prepared for Sunday's game against Sapp's Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
First, Arrington said he'll take issue if Sapp comes on Washington's side of the field during pregame stretching, as Sapp has been known to do. Such pregame altercations have led the NFL to order officials to take the field 45 minutes before kickoff.
``I'm expecting for Warren Sapp to cause me to grab him -- because he's going to try to run through our lineup in pregame,'' Arrington said. ``You never let a man run through your stretching line. If a team crosses your 50-yard line while you're stretching, there's a problem.
``You don't let somebody come to where your whole team is because that's a blatant show of disrespect, that's a blatant show of 'Why should I go around y'all?'''
Arrington was then asked what will happen if the Bucs use Sapp on offense. Sapp caught a touchdown pass against Atlanta two weeks ago.
``Sapp, I'm going to get you,'' Arrington said, looking straight into one of the cameras from a local TV station.
``If they put you out there, I'm going to get him. That's disrespectful in my opinion, too, to put defensive guys on offense that are lineman. I'm gunning. You come out there, you've got some killers on the other side of the ball -- just like you're a killer when you're on defense.''
Sapp laughed after reading Arrington's comments.
``You tell Mr. Can't Get Right, I'll be there at 10:30 a.m. sharp, eastern standard time. Tell him don't be looking for me because I'm easily found,'' Sapp said, making reference to the difficulty the Redskins had mastering the defense run by former coordinator Marvin Lewis last season.
``Spare me. Is LaVar jealous that he can't play offense?'' Sapp added. ``Is he jealous that he can't get right? Tell `Can't Get Right' that his plate is full. It's a little bit too much to try to take on me.''

Message to Lavar. Play smart football, and don't jump off sides. That is what i want to see. The hell with Sapp, the hell with smack talk, the time for smack talk is when you have the right to give it, and this team doesnt have that right at this point. How about instead of smack we concentrate on error free football.

Go LaVar Go!
Nah, I think it's a great idea to call Sapp out on it. With Derrick Brooks on the other side I'm expecting huge showing from Arrington & Trotter.
And enough attention has been drawn to it to give the refs a heads up on. So if an 'incident' does arise out it, the refs will be there to clean up & everyone knows Sapp was looking for it. (and if Sapp doesn't do anything, it looks like he's backed down, a great note to start the game on)

It's beautiful. This could be an over-the-top game for the Redskins D - a chance to shine on the SB Champs, an offensively average team to begin with, without 2 WRs & probowl FB out.
If Sapp goes in on offense?? Sapp would make a lovely trophy for Arrington.

Absolutely,......but I would like to see Arrington drop Sapp like a bad habit. Sapp is the biggest reason I can never seem to pull for Tampa. ( Unless they're playing the Cowboys )

I'm sure you meant "biggest" literally. :D
This should make the game that much more entertaining.

If something does break out in pre-game, does anyone think the two could be thrown out and not be allowed to play (since this is all premeditated)?
That would suck royally!!!

It sounded to me like the whole Redskin team would take exception to Sapp running through warmups.

Sapp became famous for "frolicing" on the opposing team's side of the field during stretching on the Monday Night Game last year against the Steelers. If you recall....Sapp and Flowers spend the entire week prior to the game jabbing at each other in the papers and on TV. The term "paper tigers" was also thrown around at the time. Anyway...while everyone was stretching pre-game, Sapp started skipping around his side of the field near the 50...and then crossed over and started skipping near the Steelers players. Luckily the MNF film crew got it on tape. The Steelers did NOT think it was funny. In fact, it motivated them to go out and destroy the Bucs that night. (And Sapp was dominated at the line of scrimmage by the Steeler's O-Line)
I back Lavar 100% on this. Sapp can talk all he wants on TV or in the paper...don't don't come to our house and disrepect our team. I hope Sapp lines up at TE. I'm sure Lavar will make him wish he never switched over to offense after that!
Regarding the penalties. Apparently, the refs are on the practice feild for a reason. If Sapp and Lavar get into a fight, they could be ejected. Or...one of the teams could be penalized on the opening kickoff. (ie...kick from the 5 yard line for the offending team...or kick from the 40 for the non-offending team)
I'm personally going to go to my seat at Fed Ex EARLY this game. If a fight goes down, I want to see it!

I find this funny. I think Lavar is just trying to get under Sapp's skin. Trying to use some of Sapp's medicine against him.
By the way -- we'd pay to see Sapp and Arrington go at it. And we predict that LaVar would whup his flabby ass.

Absolutely hilarious. LMFAO. I hope Lavar knocks the shit out of Sapp. He just might after I saw him collide w/ Bruce Smith that one year and knoocked him out I really think Lavar might take him out helmet to helmet. I hate Sapp w/ all my being, the man just loves to hear himself talk and is quite frankly an attention monger. I'll be sick to my stomach if Sapp gets a TD.
I hope this doesn't turn into some Favre/Sapp love duo II.
I'm going to get you Sapp lmao. Could you believe it?!

Sapp will not cross the 50 yard line before the game. Chucky has already threatened him with a fine if he does. I hope Lavar plays "striking out". I assume he wanted to say "go down swinging" but you really can't say that now can you? I also assumed Lavar always played his hardest. I think Lavar needs to prove something, he's heard the rumors lately that he could be overrated. I'm glad he made his comments, fire the team up!! Let's start knocking a couple of these teams out!!! And where's the htiting safety? Crack somebody, make em' scared to come over the middle.

Me too smilack! COME SUNDAY! I have a great feeling that this skins team this weekend will surprise ALOT of people! Remember when arrington picked of the pass vs. the panthers and it turned around our season, I know this is not on the field, but I have a feeling that this team could listen to what arrington said and finally play like we should play. I FEEL A WIN GUYS! And I always feel wins but not like this! I kind of felt like we were going to lose last week and we did. So I think we will pull out a big SURPRISE this week! COME ON SUNDAY! ARRINGTON HAS ME PUMPED!!!
GO SKINS!!!!!!!!

I think that this may be more of a response to the questioning of the the Heart of this Redskin team! Maybe L.A. doesn't like to have his heart questioned as a member of this team in the media via the article we all read about the laughing in the locker room after the loss to the eagle last week. Maybe, Lavar is stirring up some feelings in his teammates before this game to get them going too! Maybe, Lavar doesn't want there to be any laughing in his locker room! Get Ya Game Face On!!!!!!!!!!

I would except a Sapp hit as a birthday gift from LaVar.
