Not sure if this has been talked about yet.

But, do we have the wrong type of OL for Spurriers offense? Seems like most of our OL strengths are run blocking.

So there is the question. Since Spurrier likes to pass the ball around do we need to find better pass protectors?

This is all hypothetical. I love our OL the way it is. Samuals, Jansen, Thomas are the real deals. It just seems that we have had problems protecting Ramsey so far this year......

Lets hear your thoughts...am I way off base here?

the OL needs to bond a leeetle more, I have noticed semi-better pass protection and less penalities. It comes with time boys, it comes with time.

I think Moore is average at best.A strong C able to direct the line, pass protect and plow a hole would do wonders for our line, ala what we had with the HOGS!Thomas is our best lineman period.Jansen since he got his contract hasnt played as consistency.Didn't he have a year where he handled Strahan effortlessly? Now him and what appears to be a regressing Samuels can't go without multiple false starts or holding.I love both tackles and believe in their skills but they lack discipline even more so by these two than on last years horrible line. They actually played better last year under the same system without anyone inside to help them. They doesn't make sense does it?

An oline would need to do both. Sometimes more of one than the other. I think it's a matter of keeping backs and TE's in as well when we're being blitzed.

Good question Mike. I recall this was a concern a few years back when Samuels was first drafted (which ment Jansen was going into his second year) about the combination of the two. On paper it was an awesome duo but there were concerns about their blocking technique - particularly Samuels. Even though in college he had never allowed a sack (through him), his strenght was run blocking.

IMO, we are too small. Dockery is are biggest lineman which is a good start for rebuilding line. I would not be surprised if Samuels is not resigned. .......... We'll find out in the off-season IF my suspicions are correct.
