DJ's 2007 Draft Day Diary - REVISITED

3 years ago, I did a draft day diary with live-time blogging during the 2007 draft. Click HERE (http://hailredskins.blogspot.com/2007/04/djs-draft-day-diary.html) to read my thoughts. I thought I'd bump it up 3 years later and see how my (and our) mindset was back then.

I can't believe it was only 3 years ago when we were debating Landry vs. Okoye vs. Branch....the CJ hype...how Jamarcus was a consensus #1 overall pick...and Alec Baldwin's offending voicemail to his daughter was the celebrity faux-pas-du-jour. My how times have changed.

I think that's the draft where I told another HR member that he "just couldn't trust whitey" lmao. I blame the bartender from South Carolina who decided that the rules about drink limits didn't apply to a fellow SCer.

Wow, what an absolutely worthless draft. I know our 2nd rd pick from this draft was wasted the year before to move up and get the mostly invisible Rocky Mc but I can't remember where 3 and 4 went. Brandon Lloyd??? lmao! Who else?

For the love of whatever you worship, someone tell me where Vinny lives, so I can deposit my dog's poop on his doorstep daily for the next ten years.

I really wanted Okoye instead of Landry. Anyone know how Okoye has panned out in Houston? I don't recall hearing much about him since his rookie year.

I know it is really revisionist but it makes me sick to think we could have had (arguably) one of the 3 best players at their position today. Patrick Willis/ Adrian Peterson/ or Darelle Revis...

He had 5.5 sacks his rookie year and looked promising as a penetrator. Since then, he's been very average if not disappointing.

Anyone have some historical perspective on how awful that draft was league wide? Seems to me this one would give the Raiders/Lions a run for the their money.

The Raiders ended up with Zach Miller and Michael Bush out of this draft, Lions with CJ and Manny Ramirez...I'd put the skins last in that group of 3. Sad when one of those teams draft Jamarcus at #1.

This was one of the worst drafts, on par with our 2005 draft. None of the 2nd day picks should even have been drafted at all. Complete dumpster fire
