Hey guys,
In addition to being a ridiculously inconsistent/silly poster, I'm also a musician. I'm currently working on an insane metal album with brother (I'm young... I need to get it out of my system. Plus, he's a Raiders fan :sfight:). In the meantime, I wanted to share some of my songs with you. I played all the instruments for these, and made these for fun over the years.
If other musicians want to share, please do!
Dave
P.S. I'm tempted to make some ridiculous Redskins songs... a.k.a. the rock counterpart to Chris Paul. We Shall see...

I'm seeing Mastodon open for Alice in Chains this September. Are they any good?
Follow up question: I have pit passes. Should I be scared? lol

I have tried to get into them, they are uber-hyped up by the hipsters but they just don't click with me. They are good musicians though and will probably put on a good live show.
I don't think you'll be seeing any "walls of death" (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gKrGMbRc4NA) for that show, lol.

Thank goodness! Braveheart reinactments have no place during rock shows. lol

Wow, I'm jealous. I haven't heard any of Alice in Chains since Layne died though. Mastodon is pretty sweet, I mean I like all kinds of music except country, my roommate my freshman year turned me on to metal and I remember Mastodon standing out as one of his favorites. Never seen them live, but i would imagine they're pretty sick.

Their new album is great. A nice mix between old school AIC and new-school influences. Check out "Check My Brain", "Lesson Learned" and "Your Decision" for a sampling...
The guy they got to replace Layne is really good. His voice is similar, but he has his own look/style. Cantrell is still rocking the vocals as well...and its his voice that legitimizes their sound...
We got pit passes for their September show in Camden. Deftones and Mastodon are openers. I like a few Deftones songs...but really interested in seeing what Mastodon has to offer. I've only heard of their name but never heard a song before. I'm open to any hard rock...

mastodon are pretty awesome live, if not very loud. they sound really good - and they're a bit too brainy to have lots of meatheads mosh around and what not. check out their album crack the skye if you need a good starting place. it's more spacey and prog-rock inspired.
i like the new AiC and deftones albums - good to see some older bands still making good music. the new guy (i think his name is william) is a lot different than layne, but i think it's better to go for that vs. a 2nd rate layne clone.
seems like this will be a really good show.
